Loose drum!!!! Hey, i have a haier front loading machine, and the drum seems to be loose, i´ve taken it apart but cant see how to get into the outer drum to tighten up the connection to the inner drum, any idea`s?
Inner drum is tightened usually with a bolt thro the main pulley (sometimes a nut) but this is unlikely to be the problem. suspect you bearings have worn.

If the drum moves up/down side/side without the outer drum moving, bearings gone, replace. To check for clothing, which I doubt, remove front seal outer section, look around outer part, to bottom you probably find clip, prise apart, front back, not side ways, refit sideways
There are no alignment adjustments for front loading washers. The only issue that could exist to make this type of problem is if the spider or support arms that hold the wash drum true in the washer are broken. You can verify this by removing all items from the washer and spinning the wash drum by hand. If it is sagging or rubbing against any part of the washer as it spins, then the spider is broken.
It is an expensive repair, since the washer needs to be taken apart and the wash drum and spider assembly has to be replaced and maybe the outer plastic tub may also need to be replaced. Get a few estimates before deciding whether to repair or replace. Sorry.
Move the drum around by hand and listen carefully. There should be no loose bits or rattling, if there are it is possible that something has slipped in between the drums.
It sounds as if the drum bearing may be failing. Grip the inner drum and move it up and down at the front while feeling for play relative to the outer drum. i.e hold outer drum and lift inner drum relative to where you are holding. There should be virtually no play.
look insidethe drum and at the back in the middle of the drum do you see a cover of some sort if so it may be covering screws hold it in.Just a guess not sure without seeing it
Is this a HE2,5,4 model? Can you give me the model number from inside the door. If it's a front loader. The only way you can get it out is to totally tare it down, cement, springs, shocks, and crack apart the outer tub. Very very labor intense. Usually if the unit is out of warranty, the cost of a tech to do it isn't worth it. What's the issure with it?
Two possibles for this are aloose balance block or cracked drum spider.The front block is most prone to coming loose.
To check spider rotate drum little by little and pull towards you to check for movement.

Once you remove the rear access panel, you would see the main pulley on the rear of the outer tub. You need to remove that nut with a metric allen wrench. once the pulley is off, you can then remove the bolts holding the yoke in place. The Yoke and the bearings are available as a part assembly from haier. It is highly unlikely that you would need to replace the outer tub.
It depends on the installation. Is the area small?? How long would it take to clear the area for complete dissasembly?? After i had the machine all ready to be taken apart we charge 3 hours. Its not an easy job to say the least. However i personally own the same machine that i acquired and installed the new outer tub and seal. The seal comes with the new tub.
