Affinity frigidare front load washer won't start. It beeps with message flashing (DR)

Hello gen0313 - From what you are describing it sounds like the unit could possibly have a broken shock/bearing or damaged tub. A certified technician will need to accurately diagnosis the bearing and pulling system behind the drum for repairs.

It is telling you there is something wrong with the door lock assembly. You will probably have to replace it, but check it first for a broken wire or some other problem that you can fix.

You need to replace the door lock mechansim. Fairly easy to do yourself, just pull the spring strap off the rubber door gasket and remove 2 screws holding door lock. Install new door lock and re-install door gasket and spring strap, and WALLA! she works:)

I would replace the latch before doing anything else. These latches/door locks go bad all the time. They are very easy to replace. If the latch doesn't fix it then you're looking at a new control board. Hope this helps,

Unplug your machine.
Open the top of the machine.
Open door
Remove the door lock assembly
Check contacts of the door switch.
Replace if faulty or try to clean with electronics cleaning solvent.

The error clearly indicates bad door switch. Very simple to fix, have to take top off and loosen switch from front panel. Remove and replace.

You have to look for screws below the front kick-panel, you can raise the machine a bit to gain access to the screws, the panel comes down & out. You may find a drain hose here, on left, drain off the excess water. The pump is on the right side. Be prepared for dirty water. Inside the big flexible tube (coming from the tub bottom) is the filter, be prepared to find all sorts of junk here, clean out. You can pass it into a large plastic bag. Examine your pump also, clean out the impeller. Carefully refit all. Your machine would be fine. Don’t wait for the machine to jam to look into your filter.

If you open the top of the washer , there is a "tech" sheet in there to tell you how to reset the error codes.

My washer started this. Then stopped spinning. Now it will not even wash a load. It stops mid-cycle. The ER 20 means that something is not draining right. We checked all of the tubes leading to the pump. Nothing was clogged. The technition seems to think it is a motor controller error.
