I also have a JVC XV-N422S DVD player that only shows in "monochrome 60" (what the screen says when it's turned on). There is no "NTSC button" on the remote, and for the life of me, I can't find any such command in the menu. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Did you possibly switch where your wires are hooked up? I just tried hooking my player up to a new tv and I had a black and white picture at one point. Make sure your video wires hook to the proper colored ports.

JVC DVD player problem

You have set the DVD to progressive output for your big tv. The little one will not accept this. Your manual will tell you how to reset it. The remote may be needed. Reconnect it to the big tv and check the menus.

what is a jvc xv player? how about if u connect ur tv to a cable program, does it give u the same problem? if not, ur xv player is not compatible with ur tv or tv needs to configure setting and also that means ur tv is ok. if yes, there is a problem in the color circuit of ur tv. have it check by a serviceman. but if its not economical to do it, just buy a new one.
