My husband bought me my Timex Bodylink system for Christmas and it was running without a hitch until....the battery died. Albiet a little bit prematurely; about 2 months after I received the system. When I replaced the battery as instructed I waited about an hour to use the watch, only to find that when I went to put it on my wrist, the display was completely dead! I tried changing the battery again. Same problem. I have replaced the battery three times now, each time it is drained before an hour passes. HELP! I can't find anyone near where we live (abroad) who can fix digital watches! Any ideas?

In "Time Mode" when time is displayed, hold the "mode" button until the alarm flashes. Press the "mode" button again and the display should change to the seconds flashing. Press the st/stop button to change location between seconds, minutes, hours, date, month, and day. Use the lap/reset button to make any changes.

SOURCE: Replaced battery, now no beep.
I have a Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor 585 (product code T5C351F5)m, which has the same Short AC Pad and battery +ve message. There is an arrowhead pointing to the pad. It's a raised metal platform - a bit different to some of the Ironman's mentioned above. Here is a pic...

SOURCE: beep and chime will not work
I think there would have been a minute spring coming from the back of the watch module to the backplate of the watch - this spring carried a vibration / beep which echoed off the backplate. Chances are you have damaged this spring during battery change - as i did with my gShock. Basically it's nackered!

There are two ways to find the user manual for your Timex watch.
1. Find your watch on the list below and click on the language link for your manual.
2. Find the 3-digit module number located on the caseback of most Timex products and click on the corresponding language link for that number in the Module Table at the bottom of the page.

I had the same problem. I found that if you screw down the back too tight it goes dead. Unfortunately, the HRM and the GPS aren't communicating with the watch now. Without the HRM and GPS what's the point?
