I purchases a vivitar vivicam 8025. Unfortunately the instructions got thrown away. I've only taken a few pics and the camera says "memory full insert sd memory card to transfer and take more...

You can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site at
http://www.vivitar.com/files_products/13/VC8025%20User%20Manual.pdf

The camera needs a memory card in order to save pictures. You can take pictures without one and view them on the screen, but those pictures are lost when you turn the camera off.

I have a vivitar Vivicam 8690 and i dropped it and now it shows only white in the screen and faintly shows alittle bit of the camera image. Whats wrong with it?

Unfortunately,1 year warranty service is not available for cameras that have been dropped.

I think that if there's a little bit of camera image that is faint, that the lcd is cracked inside somehow. I'm not sure.

Have you tried to take pictures to verify if the other parts of it work?

I have a S1500 purchased last April or May from QVC. If worked fine, now since Christmas most of my pictures have black lines going through them, not just one or 2 but many. HELP have to go on vacation and...

There is no DIY fix for this, the camera has to go in for repair. It will still be under the manufacturer's warranty though so unless there's evidence of misuse, abuse or any unauthorised repair attempts the repair will be free.

Note that if you bought it from QVC in the UK then you also benefit from Sale of Goods Act protection, but as the manufacturer's warranty is still good then it's the easiest option.

There is no other way around this; if you don't have time before your holiday and need a camera straight away then you'll just have to buy or borrow a replacement

Unable to download pictures from a Vivicam 6200w

I have he same problem with the vivicam 6200W as well. The only solution is to remove the card from the camera and use a SD card reader to read it to the computer. The included driver in the CD ROM will not allow direct access to an installed SD card. Removing the SD memory card will allow you to access the camera memory itself.

The better solution is to cluck the camera away and never ever buy a vivitar again. Get a FUJI or cannon with an underwater water casing.

Vivicam 3720 cracked screen

Hi Terence,
I just posted a comment on this cam recently...
I bought a new cam and my vivitar is going spare mate.
As i suggested in my last comment, i am happy to give this away for free..
If ur hapy to pay whatever minimal postage it would cost, I would be happy to give youi my vivitar 3720, its rarely been used, (once last year for a 2week holiday)
Let me know if it would be of any use to you Terence..
I'm sure it's not worth spending any money on getting it repaired, given the cost of new cams now.....
I'd be hapy to forward mine on to you, i have no use for it anymore...

Vivitar Vivicam 4345

Selecting the "format" option in the menu will wipe off your images. basically it reformats the memory card. I would get a card reader, if you havent done so already. I worked with a student today & for some reason we couldn't transfer images from his camera directly to computer via usb + we were getting some error messages when trying to do so. So, I ended up taking his memory card out & used a memory card reader to transfer the images to 'puter and it worked fine.
