Dell monitor 173FPb

Screen is black and green light (off/on switch) is flashing

  • DearMelissa Jan 17, 2009

I have same problem. My monitor was fine, then went black and the the green light is flashing as well. I've changed power cords etc, but nothing has worked to get it to come back on.

Screen is flashing on and off. No picture is displayed. Punching it has restored it for a couple of days a few times. Now that's not working. :)

Monitor flashes on and off!

Sounds like you have a bad connection from your monitor to your computer. First check and make sure the connection between them is tight. Does your computer boot up and run though? If your computer is not booting up the monitor will default back to the flashing green power light

Monitors on/off green light flashes

Try first unplugging the monitor and the computer from the wall for 12 to 24 hours. If this does not work, hook up another monitor to the puter to see if the problems with the puter or the monitor.
