My kenmore 70 series will put water in the machine and stop.
My son had put a load of clothes in the washer machine, the washer machine filled up with water and did nothing else after that. Will not go through any other cycles.

It seems the lid switch is not working. I just had to replace mine. The machine won't finish the cycle if it thinks the lid is up. The lid switch may still work, it may have just broken off from where it is attached to the lid. Good luck.

The drain line is probably clogged. Maybe that a sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. In this case it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump.Remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. In case it clean there, check the outer tub port- open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, try to remove the clothing through the port.
filling and never stops and never agitates? then check level switch and hose, any hole in the clear hose to the level sw can cause this. if airtight then replace level sw.
Does the water stop when you push the timer in or are you having to shut the spigots off?? If it stops when the timer is pushed in then you have a problem with the pressure switch. There are quite a few tricks to axcessing your machine's components but if you are handy ill attemt to help.
i have a kenmore 70 series washer model 10020722990
it will fill with water but will not wash. if you put it on spin the water will drain but it will not spin. it sounds like the motor turning. is it a clutch that has broken.
