Question about Canon imageRUNNER 3300i Printer

1 Answer

Error E602-001 Right when we turn on the IR3300i the error E602-001 comes up on the display. We looked the error code up and it says that the hard drive is bad or not being read. We reseated the hard drive and still we get the error. We took out the hard drive, which is a 20Gig, and hooked it up via external usb to a pc. The PC does not recognize the hard drive either externally or internally and the drive gets really hot, really quick. Our question: do we need to install software on the hard drive or can we just replace the hard drive itself and be fine? If we do have to install software where can we get it and do we need a service tool? Thank you for any and all help avaliable.

The hard drive does need to be replaced and must be done by an authorized Canon service tech (like me) who has access to the system software. The system software ( or firmware) is installed on the new hard drive using Canon's Service Support Tool. Check here to find your local authorized Canon dealer.
