How do i remove shower head from a galaxy 4000 please?

My shower head is blocked so I would like to remove it to soak it. I can remove whole head, but would like to remove the disk with the holes, so that I can soak it. I'm told a vinegar solution is good. With my previous version, I just twisted the disk and it came out, but this one will not budge, and seems fixed. Any suggestions please

Not sure how to remove it but another idea is that you can fill up a plastic baggie with the vinegar, place it over the shower head, and then secure it to the shower head pipe with a zip tie or tape. Then the shower head can be soaking in the vinegar without having to remove it.

How to disassemble the moen shwer head.where can i start unscrew

First of all to remove your fixture finished shower head you may want to use one of two tools . Either use a strap wrench or smooth jaw pliers. so as to prevent damage to the finish while trying to loosen the the head form the shower tube. Once you have done that the head may have a flow restrictor at the back of the shower head. Which you can not see until you remove the shower head form the tube. You may have to use a dental pick to remove it ! be careful as not to damage it. There is also a round gasket or washer that is also there ! be careful not to damage that as well . In most cases it will be blocked right at the inlet of the shower head. Depending on the type of water you have . Whether it be hard or treated will make the difference in the longevity of the shower head in staying clear. You may have to do something to reduce the hardness of your water. have it tested to see where you are at with the potable water. There is the chemical Called CLR that you could soak it in to get ride of the calcification residue . But you must rinse it well after you have soaked it in the chemical. This is something of a maintenance issue that you may have to do from time to time. follow the instruction on the C.L.R. cleaner to the letter. do not deviate from the instructions. Reinstall in the reverse after you have cleaned it . You should use teflon tape and a small amount of yellow pipe dp to reinstall and tighten until there is no leaks . Test the device , Shower head after repair is complete. If it does not improve you may want to replace the head if it is over 10 years old.

I have extremely low pressure from my Moen Posi-Temp 1222 shower valve, but otherwise it functions well. Should I replace the posi-temp cartrige?

Hi Ken--
Positemp cartdiges should deliver years of maintenance free operation. Usually, clogs develope downstream from the cartridge. If the cartridge still works well, that is, if it still pulls and turns freely, and the rest of the house has decent water pressure, check your shower head. Remove the head and test the water pressure. If the water flows better without it, you may have a clogged shower head. Over time, rust and scale can build up inside the shower head and block what would otherwise be decent water pressure. If a visual inspection does not yield any visible blockage, you can consider cleaning the head by soaking it in a calcium removing solution such as CLR. This often helps, but my preference is to replace the shower head completely.

In my bathtub the water does not come out of the shower head anymore just the faucet. what do i do and how do i fix the problem.

There are two possible reasons for this problem.
The easiest to fix is calcium build up blocking the shower head. Remove the head and soak it in (for example) LimeAway or CLR, then rinse it and flush it out very well before reattaching it and, especially, before trying it out.
If this doesn't get results you likely have a problem with the washers in the diverter (that thing you pull to switch to shower). One of them may have deteriorated to the point where it worked its way into the shower line and is blocking it.
Are you willing and able to disassemble the plumbing to make the repair?

Flow of water thru shower head is barely a trickle

There is a chance there is mineral deposits in the showerhead openings. You can try products sucha as limeaway by unscrewing the showerhead , soaking in the limeaway for a few minutes and rinsing with water. You may have to repeat this a few times to get it clean.

We have an Ondine Hand Shower. Ondine Interbath 112.18.1M 25GPM/9.5 LPM MAX and the head is clogged and we do not get a full spray - How do I clean it? S. Seipp

Either remove it and soak it in CLR (calcium, lime, rust remover) or fill a container and tie it to shower outlet in such a way that head is emersed in the CLR. You can buy it at pretty well any hardware store, or home depot. If you don't want to try that, use vinegar, and soak it as well, I usually try to do it at end of day when shower won't be used, then let it sit in solution overnight.

Try unscrewing the shower head and remove the little black water saver in the rear but while you have it off turn on water just to make sure water makes it up to the shower head with pressure
