I accidentally set "protected program by TV-14'. Can you tell me how to turn it off?

You must go to MENU , and reset to the condition from factory. If you have some doubt , read your instr. manual , if you do not have download

if your tv has fans to cool it down i think you will find that one of the fans have stopped working which will stop the tv from keeping cool and it shuts down

My TV has a message "Protected Program by TV-G. How do I get rid of this.
Go in to your menu and find the parental guide settings you should see how or where to turn it off in that menu, if you give us a little more detail like/brand/model we can narrow it down more for you.

The unit is telling you to run autoprogram to program in your channels, make sure also the TV is in cable mode and not TV mode which is for local channels, If you have cable do a autoprogram so the set can program in channels. Auto Scan is the same as autoprogram.

Child lock will not allow my tv to turn on
i was programming my television by hand because i do not have a remote to my television and i accidentally set the child lock and now my tv will not turn on what can i do to fix my tvtv is on standby, standby light is on. can turn tv on with programable remote after pressing on button several times to set code on remote. press any function button and screen says child lock is on. can't get anywhere pressing any buttons, turn tv off with on/off button and tv goes back to stand by. don't have magnavox remote any ideas?

Your closed caption is turned on. Go into the menu and set captions to off or look for captions button on remote. Sometimes identified as cc. Press it until "captions off "appears on screen. That should do it. Good luck.

Sansui TV, V chip accidentally set
If you are on a protected channel where you are getting the "Protected Program by TV-etc" you have to get out of that channel and go to a channel that is not protected. That will allow you to hit your "Menu" button and access the V-Chip settings on your TV. Depending on the type of TV you have, you may end up using your Vol Up button as a sort of "Enter" button. Hope that helps!

WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO WATCH ANY CHANNELS
If you are on a protected channel where you are getting the "Protected Program by TV-etc" you have to get out of that channel and go to a channel that is not protected. That will allow you to hit your "Menu" button and access the V-Chip settings on your TV. Depending on the type of TV you have, you may end up using your Vol Up button as a sort of "Enter" button.
