I connect my camera to the computer and try to upload the pictures and my camera keeps flashing busy, and it will not download the pics on to my computer????
I have been having this same problem when connecting to my comp. Today I eventually tried switching off my Windows Firewall. It worked!!! I don't know if it was incidental, accidental, by chance or if I was just lucky. But I am downloading my pictures and the Busy signal on my camera is gone.

Try resetting the camera in the menu. If that still doesn't work there might an issue with your USB port and/or Main PCB. Contact a Canon authorized service center for assistance.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

I just called Canon because I was having the same problem. They suggested putting the camera in the sports mode. The reason it flashes busy is because there is a buffer period after taking pictures where the camera needs to store the information to the disk or if using a flash, then the flash needs to recharge. If you have plenty of natural light, then the full auto (the green square) mode can be selected because the flash won't have to recharge. If you are using the portait mode, then you will have to wait for the buffer period for the flash to recharge and the information to be stored to the disk.
I posted with the same problem. I was reading the software guide that came with my camera. I ended up going to the menu on the camera and setting the camera's communication. It worked! I can now upload my pictures to my computer again.
In the communications option of the camera Menu, there are two options to choose from. Try changing the options. one of them works with Canon software to download images.
