SOURCE: I have been offered a Netgear N150 DGN1000

Well this product DGN1000 is a generic router supplied by Netgear and can be used with any ADSL/DSL ISP. Please ensure that you upload the latest firmware for this router from the netgear support site and then you can use it with other ADSL/DSL ISP.
Hope this allows you to resolve the issue. If you need further assistance then let me know.

SOURCE: I have ip pbx behind

Your best bet is really to put the PBX in front of the router instead of behind it. This will come in handy both to solve this issue and to avoid trouble in the future. I myself have my voip box behind my wifi router.

If you do not want to do this, you need to fix your ports as that is what is causing the silence described. Rather than forwarding the individual ports, you may want to set the DMZ to the IP address of the PBX. You only do this if you have the PBX behind the router. Putting the PBX's IP as the DMZ will allow the PBX freedom with whatever ports it tries to access.

Either way, putting the PBX in front would be ideal.

Good Luck!!

Runtime error

Look at the back of the router it gives all the default information to use on a web browser (to avoid the runtime error)

Press the Restore Factory Settings button, on the bottom of the unit, for 6 seconds.

Connect via a Ethernet cable and put in the gateway address of
192.1.168.1 to the web browser to see the login screen.
User name is admin, password is password.

Then you can reconfigure the router to your set-up.
Here is the manual.

I do not know the password for the modem

Modems don't have a password, unless you have DSL with a password provided by your ISP. Then only you ISP can manage your account.
