My 7 year old trinitron, KV-27v22, working great until recently, no longer produces a picture when first turned on. With time and patience we can get the picture on sometimes, but until then we get a blank screen or a picture that flashes or is distorted. Sometimes the red light flashes while the picture is not on, so I assume this may be a power problem. BTW, in the past, sometimes the set was turned off by flicking the main power to the room (a light switch) off rather than turning the set off first. Don't know if this may be a factor.
Thanks
Pete

try to adjust the screen. it is located behind the CRT board.(CRT board is the board that attached to the picture tube) you will find a black knob which label screen adjust it by turning the knob.
Sony Trinitron TV. Worked well last evening. Now picture won't go on. When power is turned on, standby/timer red light flashes, but picture or sound does not work.
Forward voltage/current problem....needs a new board....You might try unplugging it for a few hours...If the TV starts you will need to leave it on until it gets repaired or replaced.
It must be connected with the color circuit of your tv, a board connected to back end of the tube. Could be dust, cob web or carbon deposit shorting a transistor. Popping noise if loud enough can be attributed to high voltage circuit fault and picture tube.
dear, you can check that transformers out put before connecting to a tv. also when its connected to a tv.
get a avo meter and connect in series with a tv.
observe the current on the intial switch on and when the picture goes. if you notice that current on intial switching is high and then it starts going lower and lower, then change the transformer.
but if the current starts going up from the intial current then check the power supply components of the tv.
