Hey Leds I think you refill your cartridge yourself. If you do so, then try to extract some ink from the head side with the help of "cartridge base (comes with kit)", then it will work smoothly, and lines will not appear. And if you refill your cartridge many times, try to change your cartridge.

Blotchy printing output for HP 8550

This is often caused by the TRANSFER DRUM having deteriorated and become 'bumpy, or 'dimpled' - take you pick depending on how YOURS looks. This causes incomplete contact with the Photo-conductor drum, and as a result doesn't lift all the image off it.

The only solution is to fit a replacement TRANSFER KIT.

I have also seen NEW 'old stock' transfer drums, straight out of the box like this, so its obviously an 'aging problem' with that component.

Also seen it in a very low count printer that was in storage, unused for over 3 years.

I have a 3800n that the print quality is very poor-meaning the background is gray streaks where the paper should be the only thing you see. Making the paper look dirty. hope that explains things. this...

You can try changing the print density under print quality in the control panel. YOu can also check the reset to factory default and see if this helps. It could need what is called a maintenance kit where the fuser and rollers are replaced. I install these all the time and sounds like this is what you need.

It only prints light color ive replaced branw new

You need a new print head. Don't buy one, though. Phone Kodak (India) and get a new head. Or throw the stupid machine away. Kodak should be sued for producing such poor quality ****.

When printing my pictures they turn out green...

You will need to clean and/or deep clean the ink cartridges through the maintenance features either located on the menu of the printer or the printer options located in Windows. If that still does not correct the problem then you will need to remove the print head and clean it seperately. I have posted the procedure for that in earlier remedies.

Blotchy prints

First, make sure your print cartridges are aligned by going to your printer software and printing out an alignment page. Secondly, adjust your printer software/properties to make sure your printing to your best photo quality. Third and most important, make sure you have the right kind of printer paper, which is probably the main reason that your page is blotchy.

Another reason its blotchy would be if the printer was not a good one.

Bad printing quality

when the print window opens, click on properties, make sure it's not set to "Quick", which can cause light and blotchy prints.
