Green and purple scrolling lines

You will most likely need what is called a scan converter/scaler. It will convert your source signal to the desired signal for you. You can find these online.

These lines are often caused by interference. Try putting a filter on the input power plug. Make sure there is nothing near by that can be causing interference, like another monitor or computer, microwave oven, fluorescent light, etc. Make sure all the antenna leads are tight and the converter box well grounded. Is this dish or cable?

green on the fan is for grounding the device, some have only a braided bare cooper line. grounding is a safety essential and all modern UL tested electrical devices will have some means of grounding to the homes grounding circuit (the bare copper line). check the installation instructions for the proper grounding method. Then you might consider having a qualified electrician install your fans.

Have you tried lifting the ground on the TV? That set has a grounded (3-prong) plug and sometimes sccrolling lines can be caused by a ground loop in your power lines.Are the green and purple lines very short, like just a few rows of pixels tall, or multiple inches, like 3 - 8 tall?

red - ignition, 12 volts with key turned on

yellow - back-up, 12 volts all the time, even with key off

black - ground

orange - illumination

blue - power antenna or remote turn on for external amplifier

grey - Solid grey is postive front right speaker, grey w/black stripe negative front right speaker

white - solid white is positive front left speaker, white w/ black stripe is negative front left speaker

purple - solid purple is postive rear right speaker, purple w/black stripe is negative rear right speaker

green - solid green is positive rear left speaker, green w/black stripe is negative rear left speaker

You may also have a wire for "mute" which mutes the speakers when you have a phone call or other accessory connected to it. I can not remember off the top of my head what color it is, but most times it is brown. If you have an extra wire I have not listed, that will most likely be the one. Most people never use this wire.

This may be a mechanical or electronic problem that is dealing with the sync of the colour wheel. There is basicly no colour lock. This may be the replacement of the associated circuit board, or the motor assembly or the colour wheel.

The link below is describing about how DLP technology works. They are relating to a front projection type. With the rear screen type, the basic technology is very much the same for decoding the pictures from the TV signal.

sharp is very aware of the panel and main video processor problems.They should give you no problems on the repair.It sounds most likely you have a main video processor problem.

You have a ground loop problem. Buy an adapter that lifts the round ground prong and poof, clean picture.
P.S. Or fix the grounding. More than likely two different ground potentials between Cable/Sat and house ground.

This is a symptom of the circuit failing.
it will soon be much worse.
You need a tech.
you can verify it is the tv circuit.
remove cable or input another signal such as dvd
bring up the TV' menu. does it have the lines.
