Pulse/Tone We accidentally switched our phone from tone dial to pulse and now we don't know how to switch it back. Any ideas?

The only switch that we have on our phone in that position is for receiver volume. The tone/pulse switch is not there.

There should be a p/t switch on the side of the phone. Slide it to t for tone.

These units just have a small switch on the side of the handset with two positions for pulse or tone, just to the left of the earpiece Here is the link to the instruction manual for your phone; http://www.swbfreedomphone.com/ib/ibcord/fc2548.pdf Check page 2 of the pdf file if you are struggling to find the switch. Hope this helps :)

please let me know what the problem still is and i will try and find a solution - the manual link still works

    :)

If it is the original handset that came with the base unit, and the model number is correct, then unfortunately all I can think of to do is to contact SWB.

They should know why their documentation is incorrect, and hopefully where the switch is on your variant.

Good luck, appreciate it if you post back with anything you find out :)

I have a Nortel Jazz 420 and it suddenly turned on pulse mode instead tone mode. How could I turn it on tone mode ? Pierre

Try this

Tone dialing allows your telephone to communicate with devices and services that respond to tone signals, such as answering machines, fax, or automatic switchboards. Want to learn how to switch from pulse to tone dialing on the Nortel phone? Follow these simple steps.

While on an active line, or after selecting the line, press # and the phone will switch from pulse to tone dialing. After you hang up the phone, your phone will return to pulse dialing. You may repeat these steps as needed.

Phone went from touch tone to pulse. . .

Hello,

Read the manual to reconfigure that option. (Look for Setup button on the phone) I can't guess what model you have. On older phones one could find a switch on the the phone to flip between Tone and Pulse.

Sorry I could not be of much help.

Switching from pulse to tone dialing (there is no switch on the base unit)

hold the select button down a few seconds until you'll see a 'tn' on the readout. this sets it to tone. hold it down again and it will set back to 'Pu' for pulse. i figured this out by accident. the losers at vtech never answered my question.
