Power Cable Replacement

Help, PLEASE!! lol I have a 42" iLo Plasma TV, model #P42BSMT. During our recent move the we lost the power cable. I have called EVERYWHERE trying to find a replacement cable, but to no avail. I need a 3-prong female cable, but it's not like a pc cable; it has needle-like prongs (for lack of better terminology) coming from the tv and I am having the worst luck trying to replace the cable. PLEASE HELP!!

Try ebay. If unsuccessful you may have to convert the plug on your set to a standard one that will work with a normal standard wire.

This must be a Samsung controller inside. Samsung controller have trouble finding if signal is ntsc or pal when tv is turn on before the source. If this is the case, just turn off the tv, start the cablebox and power on the tv again.

42'' ilo plasma TV PDP4210EA1 as monitor

The resolution of that plasma is extremely low, you will gonna have problems viewing even the simplest site an most programs wiil display badly - they need at least 800x600.
But for movies it will work just fine. Use an S-video cable from the video card to the tv and it should be automatically recognized. Configure it like any other tv, just make sure you select its native resolution - 852x480 - for best quality image.

I have a Tatung 42'' P42BSMT Plasma tv. It has no audio and video

I actually had this same problem and found that taking out the Small board that Cable screws into and unplugging the internal speakers did the trick, cant imagine why but mine works fine now. with the Cable board still slid into place the tv would come on but start to short the Filter Board, here are some parts that i have found (so u will know what im refering too) http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/index/q/P42BSMT/?limit=100&order=relevance&dir=asc Im not going to guarantee that this will work for you but it is worth a try since most of the problems with this tv are proprietary it seems.

fot the most part, you have solved your problem (pow bd), The main bd may also need to be replaced as well. The is a signal upon powering up the system. the pow bd communicates with the signal board. The signal bd, also is responsible for ALL of your additional I/O lines. Between the two of these, + a firmware update, i think the tv will be just fine.

It looks like you got a bad Power Surge thought your Power Cable. There is a card in your TV that handles that. Unfortunately their is little you can do but bite the bullet and pay to have it fixed. First call Samsung and ask if this has happened to anyone else.

Ps-42p2st samsung plasma 42" does not power on!!

A computer cord is the same as the original. Go to any Radio Shack or TV shop and ask them to check the fuse to see if it is good or bad. If it is good, then suspect moving damage. If the fuse is bad, the person checking the fuse should be able to suggest a proper replacement. After replacing the fuse ( only if it checked bad), re apply power and hope the set comes on. If the fuse blows a second time, you need to call a technician. One other thing, some sets have a vacation switch that can accidentally get pushed during a move. Consult with the owners manual to verify if your set has one.

Yes, a computer power cord is the same.
Without physical sign of damage, it will be hard to induce the movers to cover the problem. You will need to take it into a reputable TV shop and get their evaluation that whatever is wrong is due to the move. Its odd that it failed while off, however of course all these new TVs are not near as reliable as the old ones. Might just be a dislodged connector inside.

my 42" ilo plasma started going black on the outside to middle, now its totally black and no sound the power indicated lites for a min then the tv shuts off

sounds like your input board went out. I had the same problem on the ILO version of this panel. Got a replacement part off of Ebay. Search for Ilo plasma on ebay and it will come up
