thanx for replying, but that doesn't work, what happens is i plug it in, the red power light comes on, then when i press the on/off swoitch the green light flashes 39 times for 15secs then it turns green for 2 secs then goes back to red flashing light, which flashes slowly for 45 secs then the green light comes on flashing rapidly for 10 secs then back to red slow flashes for few mins till eventually stops on solid red, help!!!

Sorry couldn't answer you on the live chat. Here is the link to the user manual for your projector; http://sanyoservice.com/pdf/images/PLV55WM1(OM5110720-00_05).pdf Check page 51 - i am pretty sure that the projector is overheating - most likely as a result of needing the filter cleaned - check page 46 for details of how to do this. If this does not solve the problem, just check that there is nothing else blocking the passage of air from the filter to the fan as far as you can tell from the outside, and if still no joy then you need to get hold of a replacement filter, although it is unusual that these cannot be cleaned enough to use (it is not a good idea at all to try and operate the set without one) Hope this helps, if not then please post back with any change to the condition you described and we will see what we can do :)

Sanyo plv70 multimedia projector has yellow rectangle in centre

Either its dust on the mirrors, if so u need to clean then, there are 3 mirrors inside. Or one of the mirrors is bad, then u need to buy a new one. I would recomend you to NOT do that yourself, leave it to someone who knows how to to that.

Good luck

Sanyo PLV-55WM1

Hi I read your problem with the Sanyo PLV-55wm1. It sounds to me like a power supply problem. Like most new electronics devices, they use a switched mode power supply (SMPS)to supply the voltages to the rest of the set. Many of them use a current feedback loop to sense a short in the circuits that it powers. I would check for a shorted diode in the high voltage section of the tv. If any one of the components is shorted around the high voltage circuit, The current control line will be zero forcing the regulator to shut down.
