Red light flashes

When I turn on the camera the red camera light flashes five times and then repeats that. The camera won't record. And just now when trying to replace a tape, it refuses tp load the tape and the tape is now stuck.

Thank you for replying on the most beautiful Sunday morning so far this year. I had already done what you suggested, but couldn't find anything in the manual that helped.

I'm not sure what you mean by model version - do you mean NV-MX7B? The serial number is JOHS00384, but I guess that's getting over-fancy/

    Thanks for your help.

The camera won't work but the zoom feature still functions and "F05" displays on the LCD screen and the red light indicator flashes?  What can I do to solve this problem?

First go to this link; Type in NV-MX7 in the search box And select the correct version of the NV-MX7 that you have you will be able to download a user manual which will hopefully tell you how to deal with the problem. If you have no luck finding a solution in there then please post back with the model version and I can hopefully help (all the versions have some different fault indication lights) and differences in the tape loading system. Hope this helps - please post back with model details :)

Computer shut down and red light flashing five times then three second pause and repeats

According to the troubleshooting guide for this model, the red light flashing five times indicates a problem in the RAM (memory), before the video subsystem is ready. You may just need to open the case and make sure the memory sticks are fully locked in their slots. If you just added new memory, it might not match the required specs.

Blank screen and the power LED flashes Red five times, once every second, followed by a two second pause, and the computer beeps five times. (Beeps stop after fifth iteration but LEDs continue flashing.)

Cause Pre-video memory error.

Reseat DIMMs. Power on the system.

2. Replace DIMMs one at a time to isolate the faulty module.

3. Replace third-party memory with HP memory.
4. Replace the system board.

Red eye reduction

while in record mode, press the flash/up button repeatedly until you are in red-eye reduction mode. red-eye reduction mode should greatly reduce the problem when enabled. If this does not work, the software that came with your camera (and most photo editing applications) include a red eye reduction/removal filter.

hope this helps,

When the red light blinks five times that would indicate that there is a problem with the "Lamp Driver". That would be Sony part 1468798-14 for a Sony KDF-41WE655.
