Hi,

You need to enable the Wireless connection on the Blackberry. There is an Icon on the Main menu - scroll down and click in to enable it.

By default is disabled; so enable it and then it should work.

Let me know how it goes,

Thanks.

Service disabled and emergency calls only

problem with sim or your account

tip

If you can't make calls with your ATT cell phone...

If your ATT phone all of a sudden won't allow you to make or receive calls, says "emergency calls only" or something similar, there is an "old school" method that will more than likely fix it:
All you have to do, is turn your phone off, let everything power all the way down, and then turn your phone back on. This forces any updates to come through and the majority of the time, will allow your phone to begin working normally again.
It's not mentioned very often, but it's recommended that you turn your phones off at least once a week to keep everything updated. Try this remedy first before you call customer care or come to a store.

check with your service provider as to why they are not allowing you to use the phone

My iphone is disabled and says connect to itunes it will only allow me to make emergency calls

When the Iphone is restored to factory settings you will receive the prompt to connect to itunes and only make emergency calls, you will need to connect the Iphone to itunes to allow the Iphone to complete the setup process, similar to when you first buy an Iphone.

I'm having problem to make calls from my blackberry 7290 with this msg "sorry, only emergency calls are allowed".

Hi,
This normally means that the phone was stolen/lost and the person that lost the phone has blocked it. It sounds like the actual phone is blocked!

best for you to call the service provider as this may be a mistake by them blocking your hone by mistake

I can't make calls from my Blackberry 7290

Check on the right hand corner of your device for the vertical signal bars - 5 bars indicate full strength and 1 indicate very low signal. "OFF" indicates the radio is off and need to be turned on.

In case signal strength is good, you should be able to make and receive calls. In case it does not work, just try taking the battery out and put it back after 15 seconds and try again.

In case signal strength is low , either you are in a low signal zone or your SIM card is bad. Take the SIM card out, wipe the gold plated surface using a clean tissue, put it back and try again.

In case the radio is OFF, turn it on by clicking on the icon (Turn Wireless on) on the home page.
