We have a Syntax Olevia LT32HV 32 inch that's 18 months old. A few times when turning on the power, pink vertical bars would appear covering much of the screen. Unplugging for 10 seconds and powering up again typically fixed.
In the past few days, bars have appeared a couple times and now a dark cloud has appeared to cover the screen. Sometimes when powering up, the darkness is near the top of the screen, sometimes the bottom. We've even had a couple times no image at all on the screen.
Any suggestions?
Is the LVDS cable one of the outside cables or inside? (Not really an idiot, just with TVs.)Is the LVDS cable one of the outside cables or inside? (Not really an idiot, just with TVs.)

Re:
This set has had a problem with the LVDS cable from the Main PCB to the panel. The wires are delicate and the connection is not that great.
Sometimes unplugging and reseating the cable does clear intermitent problems like yours up.
Good Luck
The LVDS cable is inside the set. Like I said before, sometimes it clears up the problem. It's connected between the main and the panel. The LVDS cable is inside the set.

If the power on LED is not glowing, check whether the power outlet switch is on and there is power flowing into the TV. If yes, and still you do not see the LED glowing, just show a torch light on the screen from a distance and see whether you are able to see the picture. If not, there is a power supply problem in the TV and this might need attention of a qualified service technician. If yes, the CFL light inside the TV might not be getting power or CFL itself might have burnt.
You are describing a damaged "panel" which is the entire front screen unit; forget this set as 1) with this brand the part will not be available and 2) if it was available the cost would be as much or more than the set cost when new.
Sorry to give you bad news but the screens on these sets are extremely fragile and even a slight blow can destroy them.
if you look closely can you see any picture what-so-ever? grab a flashlight and check to see if you see a very dark image on the screen. if so you need to check voltages coming from power supply to the inverter board - if the voltages are good - order inverter boards - if you can see the backlights on - check your Main and tcon boards..
Ur LCD inverter board it dead, must replaced this board to get picture back. Tries Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a LCD inverter board. is a long board usally.
The electronics are known to go bad with these TV's, and I'm looking to buy someone's junk TV that has a good screen, rather than have to throw it out. (So if anyone is out there with a 532-B12 that isn't working, send me a message!) Yours might be worth fixing - however I know sadly that parts are nearly impossible to get for these TV's, and the manufacturer is virtually impossible to contact. If you DO manage to contact anyone (manufacturer or otherwise) who can source or supply parts, PLEASE do let me know - it's been nearly impossible for me, and I want to replace my cracked screen in my TV. If you can't, please let me know - I'll gladly give you a few bucks at least to salvage the screen from your TV, to transplant into mine, rather than turning it into junk on your curb.
