Go though your menu on the reciever, Look for the speaker functions for your front end rear speakers ,It was probably turned off. Was it working before you got it from your friend,

SOURCE: Denon AVR 2106 clicking noise

I like when a user is observant and curious. That will help immensely in resolving this problem.

What source(s) are always involved with the problem?

You imply it is observable with output video to the TV - "only when there is movement on my tv screen and it stops in still screen". That sounds like a digital pathway problem of some sort as any data errors would eventually escalate to something audible or visible to you once the hardware and correction algorhythms are exhausted. The clicking inside the receiver could be its efforts to resynchronize with a bad data stream. Hence, I'd like you to isolate the ins and outs that fail all the time and find the probable single source of the problem.

Try this: put a digital source on and select/deselect it for listening or viewing. Does it make the click in that brief time it's 'thinking' before you hear the source? That would be the 'normal' sound. My Pioneer does it once per source switch. Repeated clicking would mean it's struggling.

I'm betting you have an optical or hdmi cable that's flaky or not in tight and straight. Or, if only one extternal source is involved we follow that back.

SOURCE: Denon reciever avr-487

If your tv is putting out mono you will only get the center and sub speakers. This can be because the tv is only mono, or the output is set to mono in a menu of the tv. If you have cable or sat run the digital audio out to you receiver; it usually sound better that way anyhow. Set your receiver to Dolby mode for best sound.

SOURCE: Denon AVR 2807 with Bose Acoustimass 15

Well,i can tell you are not very focus, cause you posted Denon AVR-2807 with Bose AC 15 problem, but under your details, you put down AVR-5807!
First of all,it is so unfortunate that you are NOT able to gain and experience to true ability in sound for this wonderful receiver when you are using a dual tweeters speakers and expect to have good sound separation as a TWO WAY speakers(a tweeter and a midrange-for true high frequency and mid frequency sound separation.)
Secondly, you have defeated the audio configuration of the Denon AVR-2807,since all your speakers are control BY the Bose subwoofer.
Now,i could show you a way to hook this up,and it doesn't matter how you connect them, they are the "bicycle tires" installed with a "Porche"engine if you know what i mean.
If you want a good recommendation for your "beast",i will more than happy to show you the way!
Cheers,

SOURCE: No sound from Sub.... from my Denon AVR-2700, not AVR-3300, Yeah its old!

Most of Denon receiver are on screen configuration. There should be an onscreen output in the back of the receiver, connect the video cable from that output to the tv and press the oncreen button on the remote to config. There s/b an option to turn the sub on. good luck

SOURCE: Denon AVR-3805 zone 2 no longer working

If no sound coming through Zone 2, steps that worked are below. Layout: Denon AVR-988 running in 5.1 mode with patio speakers designated as Zone 2: 1) check that patio speaker wires are connected to Denon's back surround speaker terminals, 2) check "Menu then "Manual Setup" and scroll to check that "Amp Assign function is set to "Zone 2". You won't get Zone 2 sound unless this is chosen in this instance. Also check the volume settings in the "Manual Setup" to ensure you haven't turned sound down by -40 DB or limited it. Now try turing on Zone 2 sound either on front panel or on rear of remote. If you still have no sound, what worked for me is there's a Zone 2/Rec Out pushbutton on front left top panel by round input knob. This must be set to "Zone 2 Source" and not "Rec Out Source".to avoid diverting the signal to the Rec Out jacks. Keep turning the input select button until it reads "Zone 2 Source". Then turn on and this should route the signal to your Zone 2 speakers. srhfish

Does DENON AVR 887 support HDMI ARC? I bought the unit around 2007.

The Denon AVR-887 does not support ARC (audio return channel) on the HDMI output. You can find the specifications for the AVR-887 in the manual. ManualsLib has the manual here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/38390/Denon-Avr-887.html . The specifications are listed here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/38390/Denon-Avr-887.html?page=77#manual . The page with the monitor connection is https://www.manualslib.com/manual/38390/Denon-Avr-887.html?page=22#manual .

I hope this helps.

I cant connect my Denon avr 682 to my pc via optical??

I would change your setting on your receiver to digital. its probably on analog. look for a button that says that. You might have to change your input have a look at the rear and see if it says, DVD optical or CD and choose that input.

Denon AVR-2802 Optical Issue

If you look at page 16 of the user manual it tells you how to assign the devices to the optical connections. Once this is done it should work.
If you don't have the manual just type "denon avr 2802 manual" into Google and it will show a free PDF file of it. On my search it came up first!

Denon AVR 883 no sound from any source including zone 2 speakers

This sounds like a thermal issue, meaning after the receiver has been on for a while it gets to warm and then fails. I suspect after 8 years the unit may have accumulated some dust that is not allowing the heat sinks to dissipate heat adequately. I would use compressed air and blow the unit out. Some computer stores have blow stuff in a can that work well. If you have and air compressor, dial it back to 10 psi or so. You will be amazed at how much dust will come out of that unit so you may want to unhook the unit and take it outside. Also be careful not to stack anything on top of your receiver. Make sure there are lots of openings around the unit. High temperatures kill electronics.
Hope this helps.

How do you reboot the Denon AVR-2807 to factory settings

To reboot, turn receiver off by the small on/off button, not the big standby button. While off press the night and pure direct button at the same time and keep holding them with your right hand while pressing the small on/off button with your left. You will see your receiver menu flash. When you see it flash let go of the night and pure direct button and the receiver will reset it self to the radio station 87.50. The receiver's microprocessor has now been set back to factory. Enjoy this info is straight from Denon's Tech support. I had to do this on mine
