Oven showing F2 fault

I have a kenmore model no. 40429 in wall electric oven single door have had it for several years. The oven shows code F2 when you put it on self clean or try to bake with it sometime. We have already changed the breaker out. Does anyone know what the F2 code means. Thanks for any help ahead of time.

I have the same problem every time I use the self-cleaning option. It will clean for about an hour and then begin beeping with the F2 code and the words " oven door lock" flashing.. It usually stops after the oven cools down. It is beeping as I write this.

I concur with Catriver. F2 means that the oven temperature has exceeded a preset threshold. It could be for any of the following reasons: Welded relay contacts. Cooling fan stalled or blocked air flow to rear of unit. High resistance in oven sensor leads/high resistance in connectors especially at sensor in rear. There could be an open thermal switch in the yellow leads. The oven sensor would measure around 2650 ohms at the "clean temperature".

Tire, if your model starts with 911. the code stands for an overtemperature condition. I would start with the temp sensor, this is the probe inside the oven cavity, part # 334300. You can ohm it out, should be around 1100 ohms at room temp. This is for model number starting with 911. Catriver..post back.
