Printer troubles: connecting via USB to Maxtor NAS
Please can anyone shed some light on this one:
I'm having trouble getting my notebook to recognise the HP printer (HP F380) on my Maxtor Shared Storage drive (MSS 1TB). It should be simple and the manual sayz it should just appear on the drive, but nothing happens. Please can you advise if they aren't compatible and how I could perhaps work around this so we can share the printer over the wireless network.
I've gone through all the troubleshooting/help topics and all the basics have been covered.

Ensure that your notebook has all the updated drivers, if remote device is working and your notebook is not able to detect it. then there might be following issue.
* your cable is faulty
* necessary driver has not been installed on your notebook

transfer via bluetooth may have some limitations as the bandwith is limited from the BT to the mobile, try connecting the mobile to the USB port useing the data cable provided with the mobile, then it as good as trf file to a pen drive.
So donot take any action to your Maxtor and Try to find a DR company and recovery the data.Maybe the firmware is having some problems.Usually the tools called HD Doctor from SalvationDATA can deal with the firmware problems.
It seems that the printer has gone bad because when you get this message 'USB Device not recognized' it means that the usb device connected to the computer is defective however I would suggest you to connect this device to another computer and if you are getting the same error with the other computer.
Please contact hp support they should be able to help you with this.

Can you log into the Storage Router? The question is, where can you see the printer? If you can see it on the Router but not on the notebook, the problem is with the Router... if the Router sees it fine, you may have a presentation problem. Let us know.
