The set will need to be serviced, it has a internal problem !

  • Anonymous Sep 20, 2012

    do you have the number for who to call?

  • Back2life Electronics Sep 23, 2012

    No I don't, but you could look for a local TV repair shop in your area. Try and shop around and see if a shop will offer a free diagnosis. Watch your costs, repairing the set could exceed the cost of a new set.

TV powers up initially, but shuts down within seconds.

These TV's are somewhat sensitive to internal heat. It appears your sensor has triggered an overheat. This doesnt mean you still have the heat issue, it just saying it needs to be replaced or reset, either way it is not something you can do in your home. Taking it to your local authorized shop will ensure proper repairs, about $90 worth.

Projection TV keeps shutting down

Good Day;

Sounds like you have a bad green picture tube that has failed. To check this out; remove front speaker grill, remove small panel, you will see three CRT's (pictue tubes) sticking down, remove the little board on the middle tube then restore power. If TV stays on more then likely the CRT is bad but not always the driver on board could also be bad, check voltages.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Shut it self down after 5 seconds.

TV's have a circuit that monitors the high voltage and shuts down the set if it senses something amiss.
On projection types, figure on just replacing the entire board that has the flyback transformer on it.
