Printer my printer tells me I have installed the wrong color cartridge. I took the cartridge to be refilled @ Walgreens & their machine rejected it saying it was not empty. So, I reinstalled into my printer & it told me the same thing. Cartridge is Tri-color 28.

My problem wasn't solved because I didn't explain that I am using HP cartridge & it has been in my PC for 6 mo. I've had no problem until recently when it tells me I have installed the wrong one, which is still about half full of ink. So, any suggestions? TANKS!

I am a printer tech at a large corporate office, dealing with hundreds of HP inkjet printers. From your description, you appear to be using remanufactured cartridges. I strongly suggest that you cease doing this and go out and get you a genuine HP cartridge. This will more than likely resolve your issue. Yes, remanufactured cartridges are cheap options, but they cause far more grief than they are worth.

My lexmark X5410 will not accept the black and colored refilled ink cartridges from walgreens. It keeps reporting that the right cartridge is missing.

If you have refilled the cartridges 28 and 29, it's pretty normal that your printer won't print. Those cartridges are not for refill (they can be refilled, but won't work once the printer says they are empty). If you have refilled a 28A and 29A and it doesn't recognize the one of the cartridges, try removing them and clean the electric contacts with a dry cloth. Put them back in. If that doesn't help, I suggest you buy a new cartridge.

Black and color cartridges refilled. originals back in printer...printer says no color cartridge installed.. have cleaned contacts on cartridge and machine, NO difference. can we print just in black if...

You need to have both black and color cartridges installed with functioning electronics to use your printer. Sounds like your original color cartridge and the refilled color cartridge you purchased both have bad electronics. I recommend Cartridge World or Office Depot for cartridge refills because they electrically screen their cartridges before selling them. You need to buy either a new or refilled color cartridge for your printer to work.

Refilled ink cartridges at Walgreens, printer won't recognize

Hello!
28 and 29 are not meant to be refilled. They can physically be refilled, but they won't work. That is because Lexmark has put in a smart chip that doesn't allow refill.
You need to buy 28A and 29A or 34 and 35, those cartridges can be refilled with no problem.

Error: Remove and replace color cartridge

Because the software inside the cartridge was not reset. They do not have the electronic equiptment to do that.  I believe you woudl have to refill the ink before you got the empty mesasage?

Working with cannon ip 1300

You need to have a black and a color cartridge installed to use your printer. That doesn't mean the color cartridge has to be full. You can have an empty color cartridge in the printer and it will work as long as the electronics are good on it so the printer can recognize it's there. You cannot refill these cartridges yourself. Your printer remembers what cartridges have been in it so that it can reject refills (it sees the same serial number twice and catches you trying to not give Canon their money). You can use refills, but you need to get them from a refiller with a high turnover of cartridges so you don't get the same serial number twice. I recommend Cartridge World stores as they have high quality refills with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Refilled cartridges

Walgreens had gave me the wrong print cartridges back. They had my info on them but they belong to a HP printer instead of a Lexmark. We took them back and had to go thru a lot to get them straighten out. My cartridges were nowhere to be found so I'm sure the HP customer will be looking for their cartridges also. From now on no more refilled cartridges for me. Lexmark only! Thanks for the help.

My Hp does not recognize my color cartridge?

Sometimes the color bleeds over. Did you wipe down the contacts and clean the heads? Also, most of the cartridges have low ink sensors in the. Even if you have them refilled, they will still show as low ink. The only solution is to buy the new ones.... $$$$$$.

Cartridge error

How I solved this problem was, I took out the color cartridge (which seem to be the one giving the error message) and worked only with the black ink (and chose print black and white )

My color ink cartridge had been refilled at Walgreens. The Black ink cartridge is an original Lexmark
