Digital camera black LCD

Hi, I bought digital camera Fuji finepix f11 from an auction where I was not able to check it. It was a bargain. It takes pictures fine and can download it to pc. however, the LCD is always black, when I expose it to direct sun light or a tourch it displays images as negatives. I believe there is a solution for this problem, probably reset whether hard or soft reset. could you please help me, my e mail. [email protected] Kind regards Ahmad

    addedd to the fault. I opened the device and found the ribbon of the LCD with marks of fault and dicontinued due to electric shock probably on one of the lines only. Do I have to repalce all the LCD or you think I can repalce only the ribbon if that possible? I doubt it..
    probably all the LCD needs replacement

    the sock defected the ribbon connected to LCD, this is why no light on it. do I have to change all the LCD or you think there is possibility to change the ribbon only, that is in case the lamp is working.

According to the specs, the camera has a sort of LCD auto brightness control with manual override. Before sending it for repair, look at the possibility of adjusting the brightness. Fiddle with the setting, if you do not have the manual you can download it from the fujifilm website.

    The shock came from the backlight supply. Backlights are cold cathode lamp similar to florescent lamps. If you say that you can see something from the LCD, probably only the backlight is defective.

Could be easy fix but possibly not.what is wrong is back light for lcd not working,could be anything from loose connection to backlight itself,would have to be seen by cam repair shop.GET ESTIMATE FIRST.

when having a problem with your digital camera. switch it of, remove the battery and charge the battery. When you replace the battery, the error should be gone. If not, you should contact the service centre closest to you.

My daughter dropped my camera. Screen broken.
That screen is the lcd screen (liquid crystal display)
I had a fuji E900 that was dropped when the lens was extended , and it broke the lens mount ring inside the camera.
I took the camera apart to try and repaair it.
as part of the dissasembly I removed the lcd .
If you can find a parts camera.with a good lcd, it is worth the effort to simply replace your lcd.
if you need mor info email me , and I will try to describe the dissasenbly sequence for the fuji that I had, perhaps it will be the same for your camera.

Brand new camera - no image in view finder
Have you tried to format the camera? Alternatively, and don't mean to sound rude but have you taken the lense cap off?
Are you getting any menu options on the lcd screen or is it totally blank? If this is the case then likely there is a problem with your camera and you should speak to who ever you bought it from.

This indicates the back light has blown. The whole screen will need replacement- if the part is available -of that I cannot advise you, The repair costs in a work shop will outstrip the value of the camera, that is alomost certain
