Washer will not drain

When it completes the wash cycle, it stops and will not advance to drain and rinse. I manually advanced the timer past that point, but it still won't do anything.

My problem was the lid switch. I narrowed it down to an electrical problem and not machanical. A wiring diagram inside the back panel really helped. Thanks a lot for the suggestions.

Definately check the lid switch first. The plastic mounts that the screws attach to are prone to break, causing the switch to drop.

Handy man, check the lid switch, if it's broken, no spin, no drain, this model is a direct drive...no belts....Catriver, post back.

Check out your outlet pipe from under tub to filter. Keep bucket to collect water if it drains from the hose, clear the hose; if possible look also into filter to remove any clogging. Fit back. You could pour some water into the machine (where u put your clothes) and try 'spin' only for a short time. See if water drains. Try half a load to see if the machine rinses and drains. This symptom is usually when your outlet drain pipe or out filter is blocked with something.

While u are at it please check the belt, it may be loose, worn, or broken. If you're fairly handy, tighten or replace the belt. The belt should 'give' ie, move half an inch or so for it to work correctly.

Hi David if the timer is not cycling the tub will not drain ,the washer will not complete cycles, second check the lock switch on the door. this can stop the timer and the tub from draining. when not cycling the timer is at fault , this could be two problems, 1st when everything stops check the door safety switch , 2nd listen for the timer, if it stops running. good luck ,geodaws

My washer runs non stop on the wash cycle...it washes the clothes but doesn't past the wash cycle...doesn't drain, rinse or spins. What can I do?

Can you manually rotate the timer control to the next steps?
Will it proceed thru the cycles when you rotate the timer manually?
If so, then you can complete the cycle manually for the time being...
If so-- then the clock motor that drives the timer.control is not advancing it.

If yours is a newer machine with all digital controls, then I suspect something wrong in that controller, too-- But I do not have any idea of how to 'advance it manually!
(The blessings of modern controllers!-- Give me the old clock motor driven drum controllers! :-) )

My frigidaire front load washer will start a wash, complete the first cycle but then stop and flash all the lights and beep continously until I press "start" or "cancel". If I press "start" again it just...

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

The washing machinge is not completing the complete cycle

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

Whirlpool Washer will not progress to the rince cycle.

that is either a problem with the timer , or with the cold water hose at the back of the machine, see the following:

    Stops on rinse cycle

I had this exact same problem. Check and see if the screws to the door hinges are tight and if any are missing. I had one screw missing and it would not allow the door to be level and thus not be able to push the switch all the way down. This tells the washer the door is closed and if it is not closed it wont continue with the rinse cycle.
