I own a VAIO FS97OP model laptop.
While I was using it, it turned red after a while. Though I could still hear the sounds from what i was previously watching, the screen was still red.
I remember the screen kind of blinked twice or once before the whole screen turned red. I had to resort to turning it off by pushing the off button because it won't hibernate as well when i try to close the laptop.
It was alright (turned normal) when i turned it back on.
Can anyone tell me why this is so? Should i be worried of what happened or is this normal?

Re: Laptop Screen turns black or red all of a sudden
Hi, Sounds more like a glitch in the movie file you were watching which caused the video problem. Something like this is rather common while watching CDs with scratched surface. Since there is no apparent problem after rebooting, then you probably need not be worried. However, if this frequently happens, then you probably should have the memory upgraded or at least checked. Good luck.

Try another charger and then see or it might be a power options issue
SOLUTION: If you have a second computer, use Remote Desktop by choosing 'Run', type 'mstsc', type the name of the computer with a black screen, and connect. After logging in, open 'Control Panel', and choose 'Power Options'. On the left panel choose 'Choose when to turn off the display'. On the row labeled 'Adjust plan brightness', under the 'Plugged in' column, turn up the brightness slider.
when windows is loading try pressing F2 or F8 or F10 I don't remember off the top of my head which one will do it. But try to get to the system restore. (F2 i want to say) this will reinstall windows without erasing all your files.
