I have Oreck Magnesium and the plastic blue clip broke and bag comes off bc clip broke how do I put on replacement clip

If the plastic blue clip on your Oreck Magnesium vacuum cleaner has broken, you will need to replace it to keep the bag securely attached to the vacuum. Here are the steps to replace the clip:
  1. Locate the broken clip. It is usually located on the underside of the vacuum, near the bag opening.
  2. Remove the broken clip by gently prying it off with a flat-head screwdriver or a similar tool. Be careful not to damage the surrounding area.
  3. Obtain a replacement clip. You may be able to purchase a replacement clip from an Oreck dealer or online retailer.
  4. Attach the replacement clip to the vacuum. The clip should snap into place and hold the bag securely.
  5. Test the clip to make sure it is properly attached and holding the bag securely.

My Oreck XL vacuum was goign along just fine and then it turned off. Tried several different outlets, nada. There was not noise or smell prior.

A common problem with orecks is that the cord shorts out as well as the plug. with you model the switch is at the base of the vacuum so it wouldnt be the switch. the best idea would be to take it in to an Authorized Oreck Dealer. I know at my stores we dont charge for service estimates. if it is the cord we could confirm it. but it cost about $50 for a brand new cord and the labor to install it.

I have an Oreck XL 2310RS. What bag number do I need for it? Thanks.

All oreck uprights take bag type CC. I would Recommend buying oreck brand bags. they have the only patton on the bags. off brand bags will work but they will leak and tear and break.

I have a docking station on my Oreck; I am having a very difficult time putting in a new bag.

My oreck xl was leaking bad at the internal bag entrance. I found out that the outer bag was not seated in all the way to where it snaps completly over the retainer lip on the plastic part on the tube. Once I did that, I then put the docking station on, again making sure it was seated all the way, and finally the inner bag. The problem was alot better.

Hi, I purchased a used Oreck BB870-AD canister vacuum cleaner, but it didn't come with the manual or any bags. Can you tell me where I can find the manual & what type of bags do I need?

The manual is available as a PDF here: http://www.oreck.com/Owners-Guides . Scroll down to the Canisters section and then select the link for the Compact Canister vacuum.

The replacement bag that you should use is: Oreck Replacement Treated Filter Bags (12 pk. with
1 Micro Filter) No. PKBB12DW which cost $14.99 for each package from Oreck. On the Oreck site, these are the Hand-Vac Bags. See: http://www.oreck.com/Hand-Vac-Bags to order them online.

I hope this helps.

The bag won't stay on in the bag container

I thought my Oreck upright vacuum was broken because the bag wouldn't stay on. Even worse, when the bag popped off, I couldn't figure out how to get it back on. There was no satisfy 'click' or any other indication that the bag was installed properly. A good percentage of the time, it wasn't actually installed properly, and the dirt just collected in the space between the bag and the bag holder. (The easiest way to recover from this messy situation was to vacuum out the Oreck with another vacuum! When I do this, I can't help but think how embarrassed the Oreck must feel to be humilated in this manner . . .)

Anyway, after a trip to the Oreck dealer to purchase a replacement part for what I thought must surely be a broken bag-holder assembly, I now know that it's the design itself that is defective. After all the money we paid for the Oreck, my wife won't let me get rid of it. So I just use the cannister vac we got for free with the upright and spot vacuum instead. (I'm seriously thinking about breaking something inside the Oreck so my wife will let me throw it out and get a new vaccuum. We bought a new vacuum recently to use at our vacation cabin for a fraction of the price and it's a joy to use compared to the Orec - it was a Consumer Rerports "Best Buy".)

I have an oreck upright cleeaner I have not used for a while where I put bag on is the attachment 2 part because bag will not stay on.

you should have a velcro bag holder slide the bag opening onto the velcro bag housing after it is folded down then with the bag in place swivle the bag housing to the velcro and it should snug up to the inlet tube where all of the debris is vacuumed into , let me know if this helps?? thanks The Vacuum Doctor Don Alb,NM

Vacuum bag busted

Greetings from GoVacuum.com,

Yes, you certainly can take off the outer bag of your Oreck and wash it in the washing machine. You DO NOT however want to put the bag through the dryer!!!!! Just hang the bag outside, and let it air dry. It is important to make sure that the bag is 100% completely dry before you use the machine again. If the bag is wet, it will cause dirt to turn to mud in the bag, and probably cause a foul odor when you use the bag.

There are 2 different types of bag systems with Oreck vacuums. The one pictured below is the older style that uses a metal clamp to hold the bag in place. The newer docking system, will be a white plastic clamp that holds the outer bag in place. They both will be removed the same way however. Simply take a screwdriver and pry off the clamp;

Once you have removed this clamp, simply pull the outer bag off. Once it has been washed, and the bag is 100% completely dry, put the outer bag back over the bag housing as far as it will go. When you put the clamp back on, it is imperative that the clamp go behind the plastic ridges, to ensure that it is tightly fastened. If the clamp is not put on correctly, this will cause the inner paper bag to fall off during vacuuming. Make sure that the clamp is in the right position when putting the bag back;

Oreck vaccum

The belt must not be running true to the pulley. You may need a brush roll, but also check the motor to make sure it isn't moving inward after the belt is put on.
