Question about Sony KV-32S42 32" TV

1 Answer

No picture just moved. dish guy came out, hooked everything up while i was out of town. evidently, he did get video at least one time on the KV-32S42 set. wife did something with remote, also while i was away. now, get great sound, no video. red light continues to blink, never goes green, never gets picture. wondering if she did something to timers/delays etc??? since we don't get video, even by turning on with the power button, i can't tell??? sure you've seen this before, but how to get out of it??

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but what you have is the Sony classic bad picture tube. All the events which you described were coincicence. When a Sony picture tube is weak there is a circuit which detects emission from the guns , if the emission is low, a video blanking signal is applied. Sometimes you can turn the screen up (inside of TV, Not recommeded for non-technicians. an you may get a watchable picture. This however is not a fix. The picture tube is bad. Replacment exceeds value of unit Sorry. Scrivitron

I have a 50" flat screen tv. Sat dish is hooked to

Hi!

Of course it is important to make all connections right, and I assume, since you have sound, that you did all the wiring OK.
But also important is to orientate very precisely the sat dish. In order to do so you need some devices and skills. Better ask a local professional to do that.

My dish network reciever vip622 dvr fan runs all the time. Is this normal

I have the same issue and find it unbelievable that the Dish Network DVR is so noisy. It's virtually a deal killer, except now I have the damn dish on my roof. Why can't Dish commission a better quality product?

I have a vip622 with hdmi hooked up. no video or audio

Hi there, my name is Mayra Diaz with DISH Network, I just ran into your post, just wanted to make sure that everything is working ok for you. Usually when this issue happens we would replace the HDMI cable first and if that would not work we would replace the DVR receiver. If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to post back.

My dvr will not record. We moved the location of the tv and may not have hooked everything back up correctly. I have 2 tvs on this receiver and it will not record on 1 or 2.

dvr's record from the signal input, not from the tv. tv's are just used to display.i expect the input from ariel? sat dish? freeview box? is not connected right

Help Me!

My tv has several video inputs & this is the way I did mine. I ran the red, white & yellow cable from the dish box to "video 1" on the tv. For the Magnavox I ran a coax cable from the dish receiver out to the rear of the Magnavox & the red, white, yellow from the magnavox to the tv "video 2". Check the dish box to see if the switch in the back reads channel 3 or 4 & set your magnavox to the same. Make sure in the setup you have it set to rear connections. If you have picture on both video settings on the tv everything is golden. Hope this helps.
