You will need some special tools if you want to use the proper replcement screws, you can try drilling out the existing screws with a drill bit one size smaller than the screws or you can purchase a kit called "AN EASY OUT" using this kit involves drilling a small pilot hole deep enogh to insert the proper size easy out and how it works is, it's designed to work like a left hand thread so you turn it and it grabs onto the screw material and allows you to turn out the scew, or just drill out the holes and replace with self tapping screws one size bigger than the original, hope this helps.

A fan oven that has stopped heating up is probably the mostcommon oven fault that professional engineer is called to. The cause inmost cases is simply a faulty fan oven element. To employ the services of arepair company is going to cost you in the region of £60 - £100 to complete thejob.
With a little time, though and our FREE fan oven element video itshould take less than half an hour to repair, and the element can be purchasedfrom us for as little as £20 ! Why not Save yourself some money and read on
1, If the fan motor in the back of the oven isgoing round and the temperature light is on (normally little red light), butthere is no heat then you will probably need a new oven element, these aregenerally very easy to fit and readily available from our website these can betested with a electric meter.
To gain access to the element you will haveto remove the back plate from inside the oven. Once removed you will seethe fanand element, if you look closely at the element you will probablysee a small hole burnt in it where it has blown. Sometimes however there is noevidence of a fault but the element is open circuit ie: brokeninside the element casing, either way it will need replacing. Some elementswill are fixed from inside the oven and some are held in place by nuts from therear of the machine.
2, If your fan oven is getting warm but takes a very long time tocook or is burning the food more on one side than the other, then you need tocheck if your oven fan motor is workingyou will see the blade turning fast if it is ok. if the element is heating butthe fan motor is notblowing the heat into the oven then you need To replace the oven fan motor is alittle more expensive and a bit more involved.
3. If you have the opposite problem ie: your ovenis over heating and burning everything then you will need to replace your oven thermostat
4, A quite common and easily overlooked answer isif your oven is not working atall ie: no heat and no fan then the chances are that someone has put the oven timer into AUTOmode, simply put oven back to MANUAL mode and all should be working again.

This type of problem normally can be ascribed to a defective thermostat. Unfortunately there is no test for a thermostat, it has to be replaced to see if the problem has been sorted out.
One thing you can do is remove the thermostat bulb from the oven and place place it in a position where it will not heat up. Place an oven thermometer in the oven. Switch on and see of the temperature climbs above what you wee seeing before. This is a very much hands on test as you have no control over the temperature that the elements can get to. As soon as you see the temperature reach a point above that seen before, shut down immediately.
