Usually cleaning either the disc or the lens with any type of "thinner" other than dilute alcohol will destroy the disc or the lens - they are usually made out of a type of plastic which is very sensitive to chemicals - I would suggest you need a new lens assembly which is probably going to cost as much as a replacement player. If you haven't cleaned the lens yet then you can very gently clean it with a cotton bud that has been dipped in gin and left to nearly dry out.
Hope this helps, sorry if it is bad news, always only clean discs with a soft dry cloth or dilute alcohol such as gin or small amount of soapy water (clean from the centre to the outside, not round and round) if there are serious scratches on a disc then metal polish such as brasso can polish them out, although there is no guarantee - try the worst scratch first and see if the disc works before doing the whole disc.
If the player doesnt work with a clean new scratch free disc of the correct type, burned in the correct format for the player, then no amount of disc cleaning will help. Make sure the disc is finalised after burning, as many players require this.
Hope this helps - if you can post back a couple of photographs of the player we can maybe identify the model for you :)
Nail polish remover traditionally was usually acetone - due to inherent health risks (acetone is linked to serious kidney damage) many now are different, but they have to be at least as strong as acetone to work, so i wouldn't risk it - seriously gin is exactly right for lens and disc cleaning, and is also usually about the same price for a litre as nail polish remover is for a 25ml bottle.
Added bonus of gin is that there will be some left to enjoy with the music.
:)yes.

so is this a stock RAD/cd?
stock JBL 6 disk player in dash>? or? what? name and model #
mp3 and wma format. but not DVD
or
JBL premium 4-disc in-dash CD changer
io the single disc player, 3 kinds sold. new.
and now comes the big question.
TELLS where you got the disk, or name it, or tell how it was made if home made. we dont know that.
is said CD a CDDA? or not. (always try CDDA first)
is CD a real music disc. from a real store, CDDA, is that.
or CDR, or DVDr, or CDRW, or other record-able media
is music MP3? files.
see, the old units dont play modern media.
try 2 real discs, not scratched.
do they play?
one other way, is to name the radio, brand, like JBL then get the
p/n off it. (hard) then look up the product data sheet on it,
bingo, what it can and can not do is there.
but this does it all, mostly
does what yours will not do.

Hi Regie,
You have to unload the disc in the player and then insert the player to the usb jack. Make sure that the format you downloaded to your player supported by the DVD. Also ensure that the USB cable is good.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
