Digital Camera The screen on my digital camera running with lots of lines through it like the old tv's. I can't seem to get it to keep a clear image of the view I have taken. This camera was a gift to me so it came without instructions, do you know where I might get some. Thanks!!!!

$10 and a wait of a week will get you a pucca copy of the manual from http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_manuals.asp?id=657 This did surprise me a little, as manuals for Olympus models available over here (and yours appears not to be) are downloadable for free. You might try downloading a few manuals from http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/manual/#d - just to see if any of them are close enough to help you out. A.

The clue is with the video.
The video function does not use the shutter. Lines on photo's or over exposure is due to the shutter not closing completely over the lens when you take a picture.

LCD SCREEN

LCD = Lousy Camera Device? Get used to using the optical viewfinder. The LCD is great for reviewing images after you've taken them, but it leaves a lot to be desired as a viewfinder. Keeping your camera steady is no small feat at the best of times, but being forced to hold the camera away from your body to view an image through the LCD adds a new level of instability to the picture-taking process.
