My 1996 Mitsubishi tv was working perfectly, no trouble whatsoever. I know this may sound funny, but I fell asleep with the tv on and when I woke up I found myself laying on the remote. I shut the TV off but when I woke and turned it back on the screen had and still does, this green haze to it. It almost looks like the brightness is all the way up. I still get a picture with color but you can tell its not the same as it was. Any suggestions on what it might be? Or if maybe when I was leaning on the remote I may have screwed something up?

On the lower right side of the psu, (clamped to a heatsink), i changed the 8.5v (L4940P85) voltage regulator and it worked. As a test to single out the fault i warmed this component with a fine blue flame, this would make also make the tv work perfectly.
Sounds like your TV has a convergence problem. If you order KIT 10 from B&D ENTERPRISES at 1-800-458-6053 The KIT will include all parts neede and layout of part value & locations on simple paper lay out diagram. Or call FACTORY SERVICE;
Good Luck, big IRISH. PS or get from HIT Part X480293: kit.
you have the V17+ chassis. The error code blinks a 2 digit code. So yours is either blinking a 12 for no error or a 21 for xray protect shutdown. Count the blinks carefull. it should blink a number pause then blink the second number. You will no doubt need the service manual. I have a good source for mitsubishi service manuals. Let me know if youd like more info and let me know what you discover with the blinking Led.
Check any/ all pico fuses in power supply.
PVAT! Look for evidence of CRT coolant leak.
Since Perfect Focus is a function of convergence,you might consider replacing
convergence IC's,then perform alignment in servicer mode,then finish w/Perfect Focus.
sorry silly girl seen this a hundred times!! The crt socket on the set needs to be carefully taken off and cleaned with wd-40 or tuner wash. its an intermittant connection on the screen contacts and the contacts that bias the grids.. It can be a green haze a blue haze or a red haze. Very common on 3 to 5 year old samsung tvs. Good Luck
