PS2 Won't read 1 game-game works on other PS2's

Have PS2 Model SCPH-7900. Just got Guitar Hero World Tour for PS2 and it won't play-screen goes to System Browser screen after reset. All other games we have including new ones we got for Chistmas all work on machine. GH game does play on other PS2 consoles. Tried both the old and newer consoles at neighbors and worked on both. Any suggestions?

Try going on this website... i used it to help me open and clean out my ps2, after it wasn't playing my guitar hero world tour aswell... now it works after i cleaned it out...but works kinda slowly http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars/1

1. CLEAN THE LASER. ALWAYS DO THIS FIRST. MOST TIMES THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO GET YOUR SYSTEM BACK RUNNING A 100% AGAIN

2. IF THE LASER CLEANING DON'T WORK ON YOUR PS2 SYSTEM PERFORMANCE THEN TRY ADJUSTING THE LASER VOTAGE.

I know, this is very annoying. Mine is SCPH-79001.
Just put in the game like you would any game (that would read) and you should hear a few ticks. Turn the ps2 horizontly with the front facing you. And whenever you hear a tick, just tap it against you knee, then you should hear it spinning.

My ps2 wouldn't read GH world tour or metallica, but know it works. Hope I helped

SCPH-75001 model PS2, What Rock Band or Guitar Hero will work?
make shaw its not a ps3 game, not trying to be patronizing but ive had 3 people do that brought ps3 games and try to put them in ps2, its true sony are rip off merchants, my advise is not to get a wii ether go for a xbox 360, he will love you for ever. the download content alone you can get for rock band1/2 and guitar hero world tour is worth it

Most likely from you playing burnt discs on your PS2 which tricks the laser to work on those discs, it's like a habit devoloping, you need another PS2.

You can't play anything from PS3 on PS2.

The guitar hero world tour does not play on my playstatin 2
We had the same problem with Guitar Hero World Tour for PS2. We have an older fat PS2 that would play all of our other games but this one. I tried changing the settings to fast/smooth, changed the diagnostics, still didn't work. Finally, I took The PS2 apart, blew out the dust,cleaned the laser lens with a qtip and rubbing alcohol, dried it gently with a dry q-tip, and the game works!!

Ps2 - guitar hero world tour not working
Hey guys!!!!!!Guitar hero world tour is a dual layer disc and same as some gods of war disc etc. Older ps2's only player single layer discs!!!!You would have to upgrade take it in & get fixed or buy a new ps2!!!!!!Hope this helps U guys take care FT....

Guitar hero world tour will not work on my playstation2
I had the same problem.....new guitar hero game would not read the disk.....I unplugged it....cleaned the laser with a q-tip and windex....it now works fine.
