I'm not so sure if the problem derives from the power supply or the condenser/capacitor box. Actually these two problems are the most common ones that we are told about.

Red power light flashes. tv won't turn on.

how old is your tv?? ours was 2 1/2 yrs old it was a 40in lg hd ready lcd tv it just crackled and turned off one night same as yours it would turn on but with no picture or sound....we took it for repair and they said it was something inside that is basically impossible to fix...it would have cost more that the tv itself. BUT trading standards say a brand new tv should last upto 3yrs...you need to get a free qoute nd if they cant fix it contact trading standards and the tv MANUFACTURER not the shop where you got it....you NEED a reciept to do this for proof of when you purchased it...hope this helps :0)

I have power, but no sound or picture

djchillsync is correct - the power supply on these are really poorly engineered and made. Audiovox is trying very hard to ruin thier reputation by putting ou **** like these sets. Contact them for warranty repairs, you may not get them paid for but you'll be directed to someone that knows what they are doing.

42 plasma philips

All you can do at home is leaving the TV unplugged for one or two hours and see if this solve the problem.

If the unit has just been repaired, and it is faulty again, contact the service back and have the problem fixed.

Common faults on plasma TV can concert the PSU power supply board, the sustain boards, and other boards, wiring and connectors.
The testing and repair job must eb done by a technician.

RCA 32" 1996 COLOR TRAC PLUS

Hello neall,

It sounds like you may have a power supply problem- (HV Power supply). I must ask if you have sound or not? If you have sound it is the HV supply only if you do not have sound the Low Volt power supply and possibly the HV power supply/Horizontal section has a problem. I would suggest that you take the TV to a qualified TV repair shop.

I hope this helps,

Thank You,

Toshiba CRT

Hi Keith,

Your Hi-Fi is designed to produce many watts of audio power. It would be a fair assumption that you took out the output section of the audio amplifier of the CRT.

The best way to accomplish sharing the speakers between the CRT and Hi-Fi would have been to use a switch box, that way both audio sources would be isolated from each other and whatever source was not being used would be put into a dummy load.

You need to find the Part number of the damaged part. If you open the CRT (power unplugged) you will probably be able to find it with your nose, since it was damaged and burned up.

Call MCM Electronics with the part number and see if they can cross reference a replacement for you.

TV has audio sound and no picture

Trung,
There are many possibilities and most of them have to do with the "D" board, Sony p/n# A1346948A but testing is something generally beyond the scope of those less than technically equipped. You could order the whole board and put it in but that might be more than the simple fix you wanted or you wouldn't be here. So my best advice is to take it in to a qualified shop and have them estimate and repair it.. I see 3 or 4 of these sets in my shop a month, Sony XBR, and they're still very much worth the repair..
