So, I have the Dell Inspiron 1521 laptop.
Bare with me this is hard to explain.
When I put my ear close to the speakers I hear this really annoying sound...I can hear it better when I put headphones on and with them plugged in.
You see this wouldn't bother as much...however, when I try to record something I get this noise along with what I record.
So for instance, I press record (on recording software) and without even making a noise....this annoying feedback is already making noise and when I stop the recording and play back what I recorded (which is essentially nothng) all I can hear is this noise. Also, when I being to actually record myself speaking and then play back what I recorded all that can be heard in the background is this noise.
Also, why is my microphone only recording myself in only in the left speaker? I don't understand this and why can I not figure out a way to change it so I can be recorder in both speakers.
I can hear from both speakers otherwise.
It's be greatly appreciated if you could answer me.
Thank you for your time.
:)
The speakers are not hooked up correctly. I don't know if you still have the instructions but it is a hardware problem and not software. Try to figure out how to hook them up correctly.
What I have done in the past is to go to the Dell website. Click on Support. Then do a serch on "Dell Inspiron 121 manuals". It will ask you for you model number or service tag which is suppose to be on the underside of the laptop. Dell is pretty good about keeping manuals and then you can download it, it's free. Let me know if you have any problems. I'll find the correct website and attach it to the comments.
Just try to find anything that talks about sound, speakers and anything related....there is also a chat line on the Dell website and you can talk directly to a Dell support member if you think that would be better. It's free.

Remove the battery from its compartment on the side of your Dell Inspiron laptop computer.
Remove the power adapter from its plug on the side of the Dell Inspiron (if your laptop is currently plugged into a wall outlet).
Press down and hold the "Power" button on the laptop for one to two minutes. This will dispel the excess electrical current that is built up inside the laptop.
Put the battery back inside the compartment of your Dell Inspiron.
Plug your power adapter back into the side of the Dell Inspiron. Press "Power." Your laptop computer will now turn on.
hope this helps

Usually answered in minutes!
But, the speakers are built into the computer.
Also, I cannot find the instructions because this laptop was given to me by someone to use.
And would this also solve the issue of why the microphone is recording only in one speaker?
Thanks.
I think I found it, but I am just overwhelmed....there's alot of informtaion and I am not sure where to find what I specifically need.
Sadly my service tag has expired. (need service tag to chat with them)
*sigh*
This is getting to be alittle frustrating. :D
And the only other opption is to give them money.
It seems to be such a simple problem why am I going through all this? :P oh my
okay so now I just took apart my laptop and put it together.
of course I had no idea what I was doing...it ws a stupid thing for me to do on my part.....
There appeared to be nothing wrong....but now as I write here with my headphones in the sound continues....it never stops...and more weird noises are heard even.
It's so annoying....if it wasn't redorded I woulnd't have a problem with it....but dammit....this sucks.....I think i just need a new laptop I guess....I've done all I can do.
Just a crappily made computer I guess.
