Panasonic nv-ds55 I have a problem when starting up my camcorder ,it shows an icon f5 on the top of my lcd screen and then i cannot record anything. the only way i can get the camcorder to work is to take the dv out, and put it back in again some times it works sometimes it doesn't vety annoying. please help thanks andy.

It sounds like the sensor is going bad. Here is the manual for the NV-DS 60, which is very similar to yours. You may need to take it to a repair shop. Good luck.

when i put the mini dv tape into my nv ds55b camera it makes a bleeping noise, thinks about loading the tape but then ejects it back out, without even loading it. What can i do to fix this, so i can play my tapes again.

I have several films shot some years ago on DV tape and now want to transfer them to my PC - the camera (Panasonic NV-DS5) only has a DV Firewire "out", and the PC only has USB. I bought a cable from Amazon but my computer does not "see" it. How do I resolve the issue please?
