Sharp AL-1631 the copies have a black toner edge on the right side.

Several things can cause this problem; The drum cartridge is not being cleaned properly or there is a problem with the toner cartridge . Take out the drum cartridge and inspect it for any signs of the defective image. If that doesnot solve the problem, then Call a tech.

Are you mean that toner isnt baked enough? If yes then you have problem with fixing roller bushings.

But if the toner is like printed, change blade and drum.

If the toner is like spiled on copy, vacume and clean the machine

A thick black line of toner accumulates on the right edge of the paper
This is most likely caused by the drum unit. This unit is located just to the right of your toner cartridge. Just remove the toner cartridge first. Now remove the drum unit. Turn it over and look at the blue/green colored cylinder which is the drum. It should be clean. If you see a band of toner on one edge of the drum then this is where your toner on the copy is coming from. You will need the drum unit rebuilt or replaced. While it is out also check the front side of your toner cartridge. Just visually inspect the toner "brush" that runs all along the front side and make sure there are no piles of toner on it. Do not touch the brush or turn the roller.

the problem in your machine is on the drum unit there is a arching on the mc unit.located in the upper portion of the drum unit.if you have an old drum unit try to install it again just for testing.and check if ther is a dumping toner again.

Won't copy anything now.
the "screen" is actually called a grid, it is supposed to be on a unnit called the "primary" which sits on top of the drum (long silver unit) it may have a screw holding it. It must have been serviced or someone touched it, does not come off by-itself, anyway, it distributes the charge of the primary to the drum.
So look for a unit that sits directly on top of the drum unit and is the same lenght as the drum
