I recently lost my owners manual and can't remember how to set the 'turn on volume' for my car receiver. Somehow it was changed and now turns on at a very high volume. Can someone help me? I have a Jensen car receiver #CD2010X.

Press and hold AUDIO key. Using volume knob to adjust, keep clicking AUDIO to browse through all options, turning them off as they somehow disable the DISPLAY button when on. With clock on, follow the normal directions from the manual: press and hold DISPLAY button until clock blinks. Set hours and minutes with arrow buttons. Leave alone to exit. Afterward you can turn all extras back on with AUDIO button/VOLUME knob. [email protected] and skype
Check your owners manual for "factory reset" this will reset the main micro-processor. Otherwise the encoder (volume pot) needs cleaning, soldering or replacement. It could also be a cracked circuit board (if it has recently been hit)
as described in the owners manual, set the microphone at the primary listening position at ear level, prop it up somehow, a camera tripod works well, plug the mic into the receiver front port, near and under volume dial, and follow instruction on the receivers screen.
You can download the manual from the link below:

c. Power On Volume
This sets a designated volume setting for the TX-DS787 to be set
every time that the power is turned on. This prevents the TXDS787
from being turned on while it is set to an extremely high
volume and suddenly output very loud sounds. For the absolute
volume display method, this can be set between min and max. For
the relative volume display method, this can be set between ??
and 18 decibels. If you do not mind having the TX-DS787 turned
on with its current volume setting, set this to "Last."

Press and hold the volume control knob until the setup menu appears. Press and release the knob repeatedly until you see "Clock--Adj". Press the "DISP" button. Turn the volume knob to set the hours. Press DISP again, and turn the knob to set minutes. When you're done, press the volume knob again.

Press and hold the SEL button to bring up the settings menu. Press and release the tuning (>>>) buttons until you see CLOCK H. Turn the volume knob to select the hour. If necessary, press (>>>) for CLOCK M; adjust the minutes setting with the volume knob. Press SEL when you're finished.
