Dsics should be finalized shortly after recording is completed. Disc errors and anomalies wll occur in every recording after time, exposure to solar radiation, scratches, and as a consequence of "DVD rot". If the errors occur in a critical area of the disc, the recorder will no longer be able to recognize it and finalization will no longer be available.
This seems to happen with alot of dvd recorders especially if discs left unfinalised for long periods of time. This happens on all makes of recorders not just your model. Also the quality of the dvds being used can be the problem. How old is your recorder as the only other problem which could cause this is the laser losing power

Try to unplug the player for a few seconds and then plug it back. It should work again with the DivX files. I had an identical problem and since then, it works just fine.
I also have an iLO DVDRHD04. I recently purchased the Philips remotes at Wal-Mart and they have the code for the iLO. You'll have to play with it a bit, but all the functions will work, even though they will not be labled in the same fashion as the original remote. I had to just press buttons and make notes until I got it figured out...but it will work.
It could be the codec u use to encode the movie,
secondly could be a firm ware problem of your dvd player.
Other than this I can't think of any other reason. or just may be the type of recoreder u use or the recoding programe. If u had check these, then get another player
Sorry, this is all I can think of.
PS. the player firmware is the main reason to me.
Cheers

Burn your DVDs at tow positions slower than what the system and discs say. It sounds as if there is a huge amount of error being introduced during the write process. Unfortunately, the old discs can only be recovered with an external program like Zero Assumption Recovery or the like....accordianman
The only reason that you have to finalize a DVD-R disc is so that you can play it back in an external DVD. Once finalized, you can no longer add motion video to that particular disc. Discs that are not finalized can still be played back when inserted in the DVD-camcorder.
