Tried first to disconnect the supply connector going to the inverter board for back light just to ensure if their is no shorted component here. and then turn the power on again if the light stay then the inverter board was the cause why won't power on. by the way did you make a voltage checking at the power supply board does it have correct output voltages 5v,12-16v and the 24v.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. No start-up voltage comes out from it to the power board, after you switch it Power On. In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary
Check all the capacitors in the power supply circuit. Replace all those that a bulging.

Most likely your input button needs to be on a different input , if you have cable on HDMI #1 and a dvd player on HDMI#2 make shure your input button on your remote is on the right input ...also double check your HDMI cables that they are working because I have had cases where they go bad ! hope this helps Sincerely Glenn
does all the vlotages come from the psu you have to mesaure stby voltage 12v 24v and 5v if all these are ok there a great possibility that your mainboard cannot start then try changing the flash memory

That sounds like an issue with the board in the tv, can't say I've seen it happen with that model yet but I have with last years models. If it's too late to return it to the store where you bought it I'd suggest seeing if they'd exchange it for you if not talk to LG.
