I cannot get my computer to accept my older printer. I do not know where the original software disk is.
The "connection" is a cable, (or wireless when available,) and NOT software.
That said, a PC needs 'drivers' to run hardware devices. You would find these drivers on the manufacturers website. Yours is HERE.
You will need to choose the correct Operating System for your Laptop.

Sounds like another Vista Bug, i would check the HP site for this issue and if its under warranty, contact HP. If you have alot of Blue tooth devices hooked up, it may be that its trying to use another device in its place or the signals are getting crossed, im not positive.
Its like when you have to many network drives all hooked up and you plug in a USB device, Windows pops up those anoying bubles saying its detected, but in My computer it doesnt show.
So bassically you have to right click my computer, manage, disk management listed uder storage, right click on the device or drive and change the drive letter to something like " W" or " Z" or anything not in use.
It may be a siomilar case with your bluetooth, youo may have to much stuff connected. Try redoing everything like you have so many other times before, and then limiting how many bluetooth devices you have connected at the same time. see if theres a difference.

I believe if you go to HP.com and do their auto-select printer routine it should delete the old driver for you.
