Check when you turn it ON if you would see the keyboard lights or the CAPS lights respond. If they do, then the unit is ON but your LCD could be defective. Try using an external screen if that is the case.
In case there is really no power coming in, you will need to try and get a hold of a new/spare power cable/adapter and test with it.

Also, try removing the battery and use the laptop with just the power cable.

See the link below on how to remove the battery. Samsung Series RV510

Sounds like a capacitor may have burned out on the motherboard, and may be related to the power regulator for the battery. The power regulator on laptops is what regulates how/when/if the battery is charged. Either way, your last posting is correct in that the motherboard needs to be replaced to correct a potentially faulty part soldered into the motherboard.

My Norton Anti-Virus expired yesterday and i want it back

You will either have to purchase another subscription from Norton or use another anti-virus. I recommend using AVG, it is free for home users and ranks at the top with Symantec and McAfee.

Replacing Norton with anything else

Norton is a real pain, and can be a bigger pain to get rid of. First, go to filehippo.com and download CCleaner, and also download AVG, but save the AVG download to the desktop. After removing Norton you will be using AVG for your antivirus. Once you have the CCleaner installed, open the tools section on the left. This is an uninstaller, it works considerably better than the add/remove programs section of Windows. Remove anything that reads Norton. This is where it may get tricky, Norton has a couple of blocking programs built in that try to keep you from using another antivirus, or removing Norton. So, the uninstall may run the first try, or you may get a message to the effect of the updater is running. If you get this message, then you will need to open Norton, go into the settings, and turn off everything. Then try the uninstall again. Once you've uninstalled all Norton related programs, run the registry cleaner. Norton likes to leave a little blocker in the registry that prevents the install of other antiviruses. Noe that this is done, you're ready to install the AVG. NOTE at one point there will be a section that will install the AVG internet toolbar, uncheck this box, you don't need it, and once it's installed you can't remove it without removing and reinstalling AVG. Some finer points about AVG is very little maintenance,it updates automatically, will scan at a time preset by you, so as to not hinder your use at the time of the scan, it protects against spyware and adware along with the antivirus, and has real time internet security without using hardly any resources. I believe you will be happy with it. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I think my norton is downloaded wrong. I have a virus and cannot run norton

Hi mollducks, first things first. If you are using any version of XP turn on windows firewall. Click the start button & open control panel. Open windows firewall & click it to on if it is not on.
Try downloading AVG antivirus software for free at this link:
http://free.avg.com/ww.download?prd=afe Than run it. Full system scan.
After you run AVG on you're system use Norton’s remove utility to uninstall any left over files from Norton.
AVG should have caught any virus.
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
If you bought Norton antivirus software for download, go to this Norton site & click support:
http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/index.jsp
If it was the free download, try again to download it.
Norton should do a quick scan during installation.
You might want to keep AVG. Norton should still install with AVG already installed. You can remove AVG at any time.
Lastly, once you feel there are no virus's in you're system shut down the PC. Unplug the power cord from the PC. Open the case & gently remove you're memory DIMM's. Wait 1 minute & re-install them. Make sure they are correctly connected. Double check all data & power cables are securly connected & close the PC & plug the power cord back in. (By doing this you remove any virus that may be hiding with in you're memory).

Good luck mollducks!
Feel free to ask if there is still an issue with norton after running the above sugestions.
