How to change Flash timing

Does anyone know how to change the timing of the off-hook/on-hook timing when the Flash function is pressed? Thanks, Bruce

  • Bruce Taylor Jan 16, 2008

    Teglmh,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my query.

This item was purchased by me in the US and bought back to Australia with me. I have now found out that the Hook Flash facility, as used in the US used a seperate earth wire but in Australia we use a timed break in the 'Off-Hook' loop to the exchange.

So, unless I do some mods to the base unit the Hook Flash, on this unit will not work here in Australia. You live and learn.

    Thanks,

    Bruce

Hi
I bought TRU8885-3 of US Ebay (for a very good price). The phones are working here in Australia (except programming the area code requies 3 digits). My problem is that extra handsets will not recharge. Iam using a generic charger because of 240/120V problem of the originals. These are 9V 1000mA, the originals are 210mA. When plugged in, with handset in the craddle, the light comes on to show it is recharging. However it is not and eventually the handset runs out of battery.
Why not! I don't know. Any ideas, anyone!

The only reference to flash timing I can find in the manual is shown below for you, also here is link to manual :
I hope it helps !
http://www.uniden.com/products/productdetail.cfm?product=TRU8885-2

If you have Call Waiting service and a call waiting
tone sounds while you are on a call, press talk/flash
on the handset or flash/find hs on the base to accept
the waiting call. There is a short pause, and then you
will hear the new caller. To return to the original
caller, press talk/flash on the handset or flash/find
hs
on the base again.

Setting the Ring Time
Ring Time allows you to set the number of rings the caller hears before your
answering system plays the outgoing message. You can set the ring time to answer
after two, four, or six rings. If you enable the Toll Saver (TS), the answering system
picks up after two rings if you have new messages and after four rings if there are
none.
1) Enter the Answ. Setup menu, and then the Ring Time
submenu (see "Entering the Menu" on page 16).
2) Press volume up/down to select a Ring Time (Toll
Saver, 2 Times, 4 Times, or 6 Times).
3) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone.
Setting the Record Time
Record Time sets the duration for recording the incoming messages. You have three
record time options. The options "1 minute" or "4 minutes" set the duration for
recording the incoming messages. "Announce only" answers the call but prevents
the caller from leaving a message.
1) Enter the Answ. Setup menu, and then the Record
Time submenu (see "Entering the Menu" on page 16).
2) Press volume up/down to select Record Time
(1 Minute, 4 Minutes, or Announce Only).
3) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone.

mmm........thanks for the update, the only thing I can suggest is that you check your phone closely ( including the inside ) as there may possibly be a small slide switch with the settings / markings TBR ( timed break re-call ) if so, just slide the switch to that position..........good luck !

Red dye reduction

Hi,
You can find your manual here....www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/manual/zoom/man_c725uz_e.pdf

You find how to disable red eye function on page no: 63 in that manual.

For quick reference i am giving the details briefly,

The flash modes are as follows:

AUTO FLASH:

Automatically fires in low-light and backlight conditions.

RED EYE REDUCTION FLASH:

This mode significantly reduces
the phenomenon of “red-eye”
by emitting about 10 preflashes
before firing the regular
flash. This mode works the
same as the auto-flash except
for the pre-flashes.

To change between flash modes:

1 Press the (flash) switch.
● The flash pops up.
2 Press the / (flash mode) button
repeatedly until the desired flash mode
indication appears.
● The flash mode changes ,
● If / is not pressed within 2 seconds after the selection screen is
displayed, the selection screen disappears.
● To de-activate the flash (Flash Off mode ), push the flash back into the
camera.
3 Press the shutter button halfway.
● When the flash is ready to fire, the
(flash stand-by) mark lights.
4 Press the shutter button all the way.
● The flash fires.

Hope my info solves your problem,
Thanx for using fixya,
Good Luck.
