HPDESKJET 3600 DOESNT HAVE A DRIVER

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL THE PRINTER TO MY WINDOWS 7 DEVICE, I GET THE MESSAGE THE ERROR CODE 80244022

    The printer still gives me the "drivers not loaded error". I am runnning windows 7 which is not compatible with Vista.

Hi, I would suggest you update your printer drivers with fresh drivers, try this, follow instructions exactly as written:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop(watch for the light yellow bar at the top of window viewing pane, click on this and choose – download file - . Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.

hi,the reason why it most probaly comes with that error is that the driver is not meant for windows 7,so go on line check hp site, printer drivers and download.

There are no official drivers Win 7 avaliable for your AIO hp DJ 3420, but you can use an alternate compatible drivers for your model ie. hp DJ 3600 series. Read this link from hp Installing the Printer with an Alternate Driver in Windows 7 for a USB Cable Connection. Suggestions What have you tried to get Windows Update to work? I would suggest the following: Go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a printer, Local Printer, LPt1, etc...when the list of printers comes up select Windows Update. After several minutes the list of printers should be updated and the Deskjet 3600 should be in the updated list. (Also keep in mind to look under 'HP' section of the driver (hp 3600) list and not 'Hewlett Packard'). Cancel the install the wizard & select "hp 3600" drivers to install on your Win 7 system. Hope it helps.

Hp deskjet 3650 printer was working fine and now it will not print. I get a message saying The file 'hpzimc09.dll' on hp cd is needed. Also when I go to my control panel and click on printers and faxes...
delete both and re install.
If you are missing a dll then you may have had a virus that infected some files, and these may have been removed with a scan.
If you dont have your driver disc, download your software from HP / support http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=304535&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=uk

Driver for windows 7
According to the Hewlett-Packard support website, DOWNLOAD the DeskJet 3600 Series driver for Windows 7. It is equal to the USB driver for the DeskJet 3325. At the present time, the Deskjet 3600 Driver is available thru WINDOWS UPDATE ONLY. Enable WINDOWS UPDATE on your Windows 7 PC and manually download this driver.
At this time, a full feature Windows 7 driver solution is not available for your product.However, a compatible print driver solution for your product is included with the Windows 7 operating system. There is no need to download any additional software. Follow the steps in this document to identify the print driver that is compatible with the product, install the driver, and then configure it in Windows 7. When this driver is installed, you can use the basic functions of the product.

Follow these steps to install the compatible driver in Windows 7.
  1. Make sure that the USB cable is not connected to the product. If the USB cable is connected to the product, disconnect it.
  2. From the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon (c01319360.gif), and then click Devices and Printers. The Devices and Printers window opens.
  3. Click Add a printer. The Add Printer window opens.
  4. Click Add a local printer.
  5. Click Use an existing port.
  6. Click the Use an existing port drop-down list, select LPT1: (Printer Port), and then click Next.
  7. Under Manufacturer in the Install the printer driver window, click HP.
  8. Under Printers, select the appropriate alternate driver for the product (listed in the table in the previous step), and then click Next.

    9. NOTE: If your HP product is available through Windows Update, click the Windows Update button to select additional print drivers. You must connect to the Internet before using Windows Update.
  9. In the Printer name text box, type the product name and then click Next. The print driver starts the installation process.

    10. NOTE: The name of the alternate driver displays in the window as the default name. If you prefer, you can change the name of your product. This step is optional.When the installation is complete, a message displays on the computer stating that the product was added successfully.
  10. In the message window, click Finished.
  11. Connect the USB cable to the product, and connect the USB cable to the computer. A Device driver software was not successfully installed window opens.
  12. Click Close (c01900743.gif) to close the window.

Follow these steps to configure the installed driver.
  1. In the Devices and Printers window, right-click the name of the product and then click Printer Properties. The Printer Properties window opens.
  2. Click the Ports tab.
  3. Click the drop down menu, and then change the port from LPT1 to USB or DOT4.

    4. NOTE: If there is more than one USB/DOT4 port available, select the USB/DOT4 port with the highest port number. To see the full port name, widen the ports row in the Properties dialog box by placing the cursor over the vertical line between Port and Description, and then click and hold the mouse button. Move the mouse to the right until the port name is visible.
  4. Click OK.
