Place the downloaded ringtone to \My Documents\My Ringtones..

Now goto Start->Settings->Personal->Sounds & Notifications -> Click on "Notifications" tab.

Select the downloaded file from the dropdown menu..
(U can also play the file for preview by clicking the play button)

Click ok...

Now ur new file will be set as ringtone...

Hope this helps...

Thanks,
Jegan..

I am unable to make my downloaded tune into my ringtone.......probably simple, just cant figure it out!

IF you downloaded this as a ringtone it will be under a seperate menu(dowload) folder. If you downloaded it any other way other than a ringtone that actually is common thing with cell phones. Cell phone companies have started blocking that function so you will buy their ringtones, however you can sometimes get around this by having it text to your phone then from there you can make it a ringtone. This actually works in most cases. there are free ringtone sites that use this method to send you ringtones.

I cant send my ringtones to people....i have unlimited texting and everything...there is a little lock sign next to my ringtones, does that have to do with anything?

when you download a ring tone using your mobile phone the network provider puts a lock on it to stop it from being transferred for free.
to get around this you will need to download a audio converter from http://www.nch.com.au/switch/plus.html and convert the file to unlock it this method does work as i have done this many times.
Hope this helps

Downloading a ringtone to my phone

in motorola v3 razr ringtones get downloaded in the phone memory and doesnot go to the card memory . so you need to switch the memory to the phone memory and then you will be able to see that ringtone. once you move that ringtone to the card memory and then you can assign the ringtone also .

If you want ot assign the ringtone to some particular contact then it should be in the phone memory then only it wil pick up that not from the card .

Cant switch ringtones

you probably havent download the right type of ringtone file and your phone cant "read" that file. Make sure it is a wav or mp3 ringtone when you download it and make sure you download it to the MEMORY CARD. After you do that you will be able to go to documents and click the folder you saved the ringtones under...hit options and you will see the options. select foward....then to user profiles...hopes this helps...

MOTOROLA V3i cant apply MP3's as ringtone!!!!!!!!

If you have a memory card and the ringtone is on the card, you will have to copy it to your phone to be able to use it as a ringtone.

Vibration

The small switch on the top of the left edge of the iPhone turns on/off the vibrate function. Ringtones are affected by pressing the longer switch just below the vibrate switch.
