Question about KitchenAid KHTU165RSS Stainless Steel Kitchen Hood

Vent Hood Problem with hood light module constantly failing. Replaced one over the last year at a cost of 300.00. Please help as we are closely reaching the point of spending more than the hood is worth.

Also, I forgot to mention that when the hood was installed it was not installed on a seperate circuit\breaker. And, I'm wondering if that miight me why we are losing so many light modules on our hood.

When a bulb blows, it takes excess current. if breaker is not sized to a hood, then damage to module can occur at time bulb goes

EFC90950x lights are not working. Fans are ok. Bulbs changed but lights still not working. Is there a hidden fuse that needs changing?

I have repaired a similar vent hood with this problem. If you have two lamps that are 35 Watts each, order from ebay or Amazon one of the HATCH LIGHTING 80WATT Electronic Transformers. CAT # RS12-80M, 120 Volt. It will cost you about $22 and you use some wire nuts and wire cutters to install it. Please turn off power to the vent hood first!

2007 gmc yukon has security light blinking and hood open warning indicator light on but hood is closed. have reset battery and security system will not shut off

The security light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM. (Theft Deterrent Module) The TDM is what tells your computer that the correct key is being used and that it is "OK" to allow the vehicle to start and run. These 3 parts must be in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending important signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, (normally due to a failing/broken part) the car goes into antitheft mode. The car misinterperates this and thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is NOT getting that signal from YOUR specific key. There is where the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. So basically, if that light is on, your system has some sort of failing part. This can start as an intermittent "no start", to your vehicle not running for days at a time, to the vehicle NEVER starting again. The problem is electrical and computer based, so don't count on an easy reset button, or the problem fixing itself. The hard part is isolating which part is the problem. You can spend a thousand dollars through a mechanic very easily. I have had great luck with bypassing the entire system. This way the problem will never return. It actually CAN'T ever return because it is eliminated. This can also be done yourself at a much cheaper cost. Read through this link very carefully. You'll find alot of information and pictures, along with ways to help you fix this.

Battery keeps draining while car sits. Constantly having to recharge. Replaced battery twice in last year. NEED HELP !

Check to see if it's the light under the hood that stay's on when you close the hood. remove the light bulb and see if it still drains. The other places would be the light over the visor and light in the glove box. Other things would be a bad relay like the A/C relay to the compressor being stuck in the on position and A/C clutch engaged all the time. Start with the light's it may take a few days but better then going to the dealer and paying them to do the same thing for a few days and charging you for the service. Keep me posted, be glad to help out.

Ge monogram hood has power but not working

I have the same problem, only worse. The fuse is in the stack above the motor. You have to remove the vent decorative cover (that stainless tube that goes to the ceiling) and the fuse is in the low voltage circuit close to or inside the gray box that looks like a transformer (on the left). Mine blew out and I replaced the fuse, which lasted for about two months. I replaced it again and it lasted two days. Then, I replaced the triac with an NTE5679 (over on the right) (replaces ECG5679) about two years ago, and the fuse lasted until today. I do not know what to do now. We did not touch a switch just before the fuse blew. The fan was not running, but the lights were on. I think I will try a slightly larger fuse, but first I may look at replacing the fuse with a breaker that I can install behind the filters, instead of removing the stack cover every time the circuit goes out. Good Luck to you.

Broan Allure QS2 Range Hood

Had same problem & fuse fixed it.
Before buying a new control board (approx $160), check the 3 amp fuse located on the inside of the vent on the control board. You have to take the light/bottom housing & black plastic air chute off to see control board/fuse.

Dacor IVS1 Vent Hood - How to change a light bulb?

Buylighting.com, JDR120V-75W-E27CG...also comes in 50 watt. They aren't inexpensive, but if installed properly, will last a while. We have a little suction cup to take them out and put them in. It came with the range hood. If you get fingerprints on a halogen bulb, it can blow out quicker.
