I have the same problem with my new Kenmore Elite Oasis Washer. The cray thing keeps saying F1. To top it off the owner manual says nothing about FI or how to fix it. I honestly wished I hadn't bought this washer. The other thing is I am a nurse and wash loads of scrub tops and all my ties in the backs of the tops get all wrapped around the center piece of the washer. It takes me an hour to untangle all of it.

Re: F1 and F83 codes
Marsha, F1 is the code for a primary control failure. Since you just replaced main board check to see that all the harnesses are seated correctly. On this model I've found that if you have a pinched or blocked pressure tube,(hose going to the control board) it will give the same error code as a failed control board. Make sure it's not being pinched when replacing the consol. The F83 is the code for door unlock failure. You need to get past the main control board failure first...Catriver..post back.

The F1 error code means that the computer thinks a button on the touchpad is stuck. Sometimes this can be resolved by making sure the touchpad connector fits tight into the control board. The F1 code can be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF. If it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced .

A Sublime Master at the Samurai School of Appliantology recently did battle with one of these newfangled Oasis washing machines. The F1 error code was intermittent, which made it impossible to troubleshoot. Turns out there’s a service bulletin out on this problem. Good
news for Oasis F-51 sufferers! Sears
will replace the electronic control board (the F51 prob) for free, in warranty
or not. Serial #s for the bad board are: CS48 - CS52 or CT01-CT49. Call Sears
at 800-847-9083.
You
hv to rate me ‘very helpful’, or the call won’t get thru!!
YES! Serious problem...more annoying than anything else. Wait until your machine stops at the spin cycle and displays "F1" again. We just had a repair tech out today and received a quote of $384+ to fix/replace the circuit board.
Kenmore & Sears are fully aware of this problem and have issued a recall on a model that is one digit off of the model I have yet they will not do anything about this even though it is the same problem. These machines are huge dogs!
I think there might be a recall on your washer call to see. I am not for sure that there is a recall but I a m pretty sure there is. So don't quote me on that. the f1 error code usually means that you have a bad board. f1 means that your pressure switch line is failing and this is all in your board. check your owners manual if whirlpool is not going to pay for this repair sometimes there are extended warranties in your manual
your board is confused and cannot read water level, very easy fix, pull off console(three screws on rear) and remove clear hose on right side of main control. blow into with your mouth and clear tube. reconnect hose and try, if F1 continues main control will need to be replaced, Sears is offering this for free if your unit falls within a certain serial number range, Also a biggie.....You must use he soap only with the oasis....no exceptions.....
